Speaking of SMU, when both of us do join the PAC, I presume they'll be our "rival" on Rivalry Week. I can't imagine the league disrupting the current rivalry format to appease both of us. What other rivalry game would they switch? All the others are perfect natural rivalries. We won’t have one in the PAC….Fresno St is our natural rival. USC and Utah became pretty good non-natural rivals. Most games were close, the fans from both sides brought their passion and travelled well. Even the USC QB had a distaste for the Utes.

Fresno is not our natural rival. They are just something in the rear view mirror. I think Fresno and SJSU are more natural rivals. True, when you consider their shared history in the CCAA, PCAA, WAC, and MW. Sparty and SDSU even had the same Head Ball Coach.

I've never understood the fascination with UNLV. It's not about the product on the Field. It's about location, a burgeoning TV market and fanbase that has been waiting for a reason to show up LV is the natural spot for a Tourney or CCG. Vegas is a recruiting hotbed. However, their Athletic Department has managed to do less with more advantages than any School in the Western US.

Not a rival in football. They beat us too often. 30 Wins 27 losses and 4 ties in the series dating back to 1923. 3-7 in the last decade. The three wins were in years Fres-no finished under .500. Sadly, they own us on the FB side of things. Tedford is one hell of a Ball Coach.

Tedford is one hell of a Ball Coach. They were beating us in the late '50s when I started following Aztec football and they have been beating us lately. My present aggravation is based on that. The "Fog Bowl" was my second most joyous Aztec victory.

All you could see, at best, was halfway across the field and up to 10 yards left or right of where you were sitting. Much of the game you could see even less. Memorable for sure.

Along the same lines, back when I was playing, we used to have this annual Shrine Game. At half-time they would shoot off a crap load of fireworks, as we emerged for the second half, you could only see about 50 feet because the smoke from the fireworks would settle down into the bowl of the stadium. The worst part of it was that not only could you not see, you could not breathe from the acrid smoke in the air. Fog would have been preferable.

My grandfather was a Shriner and a Freemason.

This guy just throws stuff out there to see what will stick. He hasn’t been right yet! However, I’m confident we are in regardless of whether or not Colorado bolts for the Big 12.
