This is indeed a special case, since there never has been a thread reaching such a length. WLR You think that thread was long? Wait until you see this one, if Fresno gets left behind in the MWC while SDSU gets their PAC invite. Can I get a prior ruling please that, in the event that that happens, all "we told you so" posts are "off topic" and will be removed? I'm kidding. I've enjoyed participating in this thread and appreciate the more tolerant of you who have interacted with me on a relatively civil basis. I wouldn't dream of robbing posters of their opportunity to give me grief. They would deserve their victory lap and I would be fine with it if admins even overlooked some of the rules so that they could thoroughly enjoy it. I'm a big boy and getting your nose rubbed in it on occasion is a part of what is for me, a 50+ year rivalry that I both cherish and hope lives on. |

Though I disagree with the actions taken, you and Erik were clear that in your opinion the posts had strayed off topic, and outside the rules. Length of thread would seem irrelevant to me. Anytime someone violates rules or topic, they should be counseled, and warned that future transgressions will be met with increasingly more severe sanctions. I hope you agree, because shutting down access to all is not the way to punish a few folks. Having said that, I would offer a suggestion based on the 400+ page thread in question. What is special about that thread is not so much its length, but that it was allowed to become a forum about the future of Fresno State University rather than a discussion of SDSU prospects for P5 membership. Not asking you guys to monitor every thread, but if this is to be the place wher3 fans come to discuss SDSU athletics, then some effort to keep it to that would be appreciated. There is only one poster here who believes that the future of Aztec athletics is som3how tied to Fresno. IMHO, it’s not, but somehow it was allowed to be proposed here, @nd then used to question serious posts of newsworthy interest to everyone else. Therefore, I’m asking you to adopt another rule stating that this forum is for Aztec discussions only, and that any posts regarding non Aztec speculation will be deleted. WLRAs I understand your post, this thread is not the place for discussion of FSU's future. I hope I'm right and if so, mahalo and will you kindly advise the one poster who seems obsessed with FSU's future, to post somewhere else. This will IMHO result in two positive outcomes. First, and most importantly there will be a quick reduction in the temperature here with no need to respond to uh er off topic posts. Secondly, if you tell him where to go, I won't get in trouble.  |

Either Apple or Amazon would be infinitely better than the PAC12N for streaming. |

Okay, so for clarity, this thread is about SDSU to the PAC -- not SDSU to the Big 12. That should go in a different thread. There are a number of AM posters who would prefer the Big 12 over the PAC -- for stability reasons, principally -- so I'm sure they will want to know where to post what.
Obviously, a thread that included SDSU to the Big 12 can't exclude a discussion of Fresno because our future or futures there, if any, are entirely interrelated. Recall that our president called yours and invited her to make a joint presentation with us to the Big 12. And if the PAC TV deal is insufficient to keep all the PAC schools together in the PAC or is insufficient to support expansion that includes SDSU, then we could still be going into the Big 12 together -- or fighting each other for a single G-5 slot.
I don't think I've ever posted anything ever about Fresno to the PAC -- they don't want us and we don't want them. But I would think that Fresno and/or SDSU to the Big 12 is entirely germaine to this board. So please designate the proper thread for that discussion.

You could start your own thread with the partnership between State and Frestucky to the BIG12. Then only engage on that thread with people who will chat with you. Don't psot on any other thread and see what happens. I would think you will get a bit of action but not nearly as much as you get now. |
