Big fan of the “two things can be true at once” idea: We barfed up a huge portion of the first half during which we completely shat the bed, But otherwise recovered from and made it an extremely close game (5 Pts?) with time to go. What a hell of a run for these guys. Just unbelievable March/April that will be the best of all time for a long time. Cheers! This… if we had a reasonable 1st half… that run to cut it to 5 could have been a run to take the lead…

Can we put fans / posters into the transfer portal? I have a nomination... I stand by my statement. Bradley didn't step up in big games over the two years he was at SDSU. But, made great strides in getting paid out. You need to ease out… your normal, reasonable posts are being replaced by silly posts…

Bradley's two buckets came at 16:34 in the 1st half and 19:23 in the 2nd half, didn't hit buckets when it mattered, kept firing up threes when he could have driven the ball into the paint. 16:34 Matt Bradley made Jumper. 10 to 616:15 Foul on Matt Bradley 10-6 15:53 Matt Bradley missed Three Point Jumper 10-8 9:36 Matt Bradley missed Three Point Jumper 12-16 9:05 Matt Bradley turnover 12-16 8:45 Matt Bradley missed Jumper 12-18 7:21 Matt Bradley made Free Throw. 13-227:21 Matt Bradley missed Free Throw. 13-22 7:21 Matt Bradley made Free Throw 14-222:47 Matt Bradley missed Layup, 20-36 19:23 Matt Bradley made Jumper. 26-3618:36 Matt Bradley missed Three Point Jumper. 26-38 2:36 Matt Bradley missed Three Point Jumper. 55-67 2:08 Foul on Matt Bradley. 55-67 1:29 Matt Bradley made Free Throw. 58-711:29 Matt Bradley made Free Throw. 59-710:59 Matt Bradley missed Layup. 59-75 Just stop

But, made great strides in getting paid out. Bradley (like Mensah and Seiko) is a good college player who won't play in the NBA - and that's okay. All of them have overseas futures ahead of them. I don't think that Butler is quite there in his scoring efficiency FG %/3 Point %/Assists Per Game to be drafted. Trammell probably comes back for another year, or he can go overseas if he wants. You have to imagine this was Arop's last game. Who knows what's next for him?

I understand it would have been hard to get game-time this year but these are the things you have to do to fill out a team at this level from now on. The Transfer Portal is a new game going forward, it's what you can do for me THIS YEAR and MAYBE next year and that's about it. The timeline for producing is NOW we can't wait any more the clock is ticking and the list of players is LONG and they are hungry and looking to get on new teams.

www.foxsports.com/stories/college-basketball/college-basketball-power-rankings-all-too-early-top-25-for-2023-2414. San Diego State (Last season: 32-7, National Runner-Up) While Matt Bradley, Nathan Mensah and Keshad Johnson are significant losses, this is where depth and experience matter. The Aztecs are tracking to have Darrion Trammell, Lamont Butler, Jaedon LeDee and Micah Parrish in the fold, and Brian Dutcher can attack the transfer portal. A take for next year: We'll see SDSU find its way to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament again. I agree with the last sentence. We will be back and be just fine. The read here is, we have national respect, pre season.

What are you talking about, Coach Dutch was talking directly to recruits in the Transfer Portal every day during March Madness. He needs our help, you know he does nothing until he looks over the AztecMesa recruiting issues and comments, roomer has it he has Stan on his Speed dial (just ask the Stanbot) I also have heard that Coach Dutcher and Coach Hoke have Stan staying out in Texas for Special Recruiting for Football and Basketball (but that's our secret weapon, don't tell anyone) It was Stan or Paige and they went with Stan due to his ability to communicate with the younger folks that won them over.

Very interesting times in big time collegiate sports...
Hey, if you're gonna get paid to play - then critique in the form of performance review comes with the territory! Do I love the new reality...not really! But, change or die....
Keshad Johnson - thought he played his best game as an Aztec....great poise at the line, did his job on D and made some shots...Hope he's back!
Lamont Butler - He was our best player in March/April - played excellent D and our only player that could get his, on his own on " O ". You could feel his confidence grow as we advanced with each win in MM...If he continues to improve - could be an all-american next year....Not sure he'll return.
Matty B. - No way we advance as far without him...Average defender - got paid by NIL because of his 2 years of contributions to our program as our only bonafide scorer...Needed to play better in Championship to keep it close and potentially win...
Trammell - Onions the size of Gibraltar....played inspired ball throughout MM run...without the guts displayed by he and Butler in final game, we lose by 30. Hope he returns.
Nate M. - Of course we'll miss his D...Was overmatched by Uconn...Loves the camaraderie with the fellas, but doesn't love the game of basketball. As a fifth year starter, his improvement from his freshman year to his last game was negligible...
Ja. Ladee - skies the limit...with more minutes could be 17 and 10...hope he's committed to the Aztecs...Played average in the finals - needed to play better
Micah P. - Struggled in the final game...needed more offensive production....Look forward to his return
Adam S. - Never got it going in MM....teams focused on him...but, at times was hesitant to take shots when give split second openings - gonna miss his leadership
AG.. - Struggled in the final game when we needed him to play better to win.......His intangible contributions to this program and Aztec Nation are priceless!
From this fan: Thank you fellas, for this magical run!

I’m sad today but also extremely grateful for all the excitement this team has provided over the last month. At the beginning of the tourney I think most of us would have been happy with just winning a game in the Dance, but to make it to the national championship, that’s just amazing. What a great group of young men. I love this team.

Keep things in perspectives... One step at a time... We're growing and growing... The future looks bright... especially with pending P5 offer... along with the money and exposure... We'll be back.

Amazing interviews all around Watched this interview late last night, and may have to admit that I was frustrated at the Aztecs scoring droughts, in the first half, and in ability to close the gap. Perhaps, I belabored that point last night. Woke up, changed, and more understanding.

just got back from Houston and had to make a few comments. the excitement and enthusiasm was way beyond my wildest imagination. aztec fans know how to travel and support the team. uconn played like a champion, Aztecs played like runner-ups with pride the aztec curse was evident with miss after miss, once 12-14 missed shots and made a couple free throws. GOTTA get some shooters, D can't win without clutch shooting.. and foul shots made proof of this is that aztecs scored 59 points. THREE uconn players scored 52. Mensa, a.g. and parish scored ONE. as smokey would say,"one more than three dead men." the dagger in the heart was when the aztecs got the lead down to 5, and the uconn player threw up a 3 and scored. you could feel the deflation 1/2 a mile from the court where our seats were. the semi-final was epic. I have bruises from SHOW hugs texas is flat now that we've had the experience, don't let it be the last time. recruit some shot makers along with players that can play D. modify the "have to want to play D to be an aztec. change that to have to want to play D and score to be an aztec most aztec fans were classy losers. sadly, a few were not. The Show creedo needs to be reviewed by the newer additions to The Show. "no one likes us and we don't care" does not mean it's acceptable to act like morons or thugs let's get back in'24.

UConn victory margin in March Madness 1st Round, Iona, 87-63, won by 242nd Round, St. Mary's, 70-55, won by 15Sweet 16, Arkansas, 88-65, won by 23Elite 8, Gonzaga, 82-54, w on by 28Final Four, Miami (FL), 72-59, won by 13Final, SDSU, 76-59, won by 17 (should have been way lower!)
This is like SDSU playing Quad-3 teams during the regular season. Average margin of victory is 20 points. UConn is just really good, and playing really well. They literally went on a roll. Also they beat the crap out of a lot of good teams.Including the very good team they beat Monday night.
