It is crazy that with 1 game left there is a 4-way tie for third place. The schools are SDSU, Colorado State, Boise State and New Mexico. SDSU must beat Air Force on Tuesday. SDSU is 1-1 against each of the three other schools in the tiebreaker. It is possible that the Boise State-Colorado-State game loser may get the 6th seed. New Mexico plays at Fresno State. UNLV is the 1 seed and Wyoming the 2 seed.

We'll be getting to Vegas on Tuesday, so I'm hopeful we'll get to be watching the AZZZZZZtec Women play with House Money!

The mwc needs to inform fans of the scenarios of teams involved in the 3rd to 6th tiebreaking process. GoAztecs is reporting that with a win over Air Force, the Aztecs will get a bye meaning seeded 3 or 4 or 5. This Aztecs fan wants to avoid UNLV in the semis. So no 4 or 5 seed. Hopefully, the Aztecs get the third seed as Wyoming is due payback for shooting about 80% in the third and fourth periods in Viejas. Go Boise State beat Colorado State.

Yes, there is a women's NIT tournament of 64 teams. One year, Wyoming Cowgirls won the women's nit at the sold out dome of doom. SDSU has done enough to earn a WNIT bid this year.

Initial tiebreaker is H2H among the. CSU is 3-2, SDSU & NM 3-3, and BSU 2-3 with CSU & BSU playing each other. Then, it's record vs. teams starting at the top. All are 0-2 vs. UNLV - nonissue. SDSU, CSU & NM are all 1-1 vs. Wyoming; Boise is 0-2. Next would be AF, where NM & BSU hold the edge at 2-0. We'd be 1-0; CSU 1-1. Assuming SDSU beats AF and NM over FSU.... If CSU wins, they should get the #3 seed, being 4-2 between the 4 teams and Boise the 6th seed alone If CSU loses, meaning BSU wins, I think they lose out & get the 6th seed anyway due to Wyoming tiebreaker - In other words, SDSU & NM winning means Boise is the odd team out no matter what. Also, SDSU clinches a 3-5 seed simply by winning. After that it gets complicated. Is 2-0 better than 1-0 vs. AF, given SDSU only had 1 opportunity? Probably. Say CSU losses, we know BSU is in 6th & you have a 3-way tie for 3rd/4th/5th. All are equal vs. UNLV, Wyoming & each other. Between SDSU, NM & CSU in this scenario, NM has the edge at 2-0 v AF UNLESS 1-0 is deemed equal (loss vs. win column mattering, or winning %). NM would get the 3 seed if 2-0. If not, then it's a 2-team tiebreaker between NM & SDSU and both are 2-0 vs. Nevada, the next team. That's as far as I've gotten, but ultimately I think the scenarios are: 1. Beat AF, BSU beats CSU & Fresno beats NM - we'd be the 3 seed. 2. Beat AF, if CSU beats BSU, then we're 4 or 5 seed & between the 2 doesn't matter at all other than uniform color choice Hope that's clear as mud. |

Crazy ending. NM missed a layup with 5 seconds left, Aztecs got rebound and nobody from NM fouled the Aztec. Clock just ran out. That was nuts.
