Here on earth is like one final exam that you're taking. It's like taking a test that's only a Pass, or Fail grade, and Jesus is equivalent to a Professor that will not let you have a redo if you Fail. You cannot retake the test after you've died and realize that Jesus Christ is God. You can't say, "Oh, I believe you now!!!" He will say, back away from me, I never knew you. You we're ashamed of me, as I am if you now. You DO NOT want that to happen. Investigate more. Do more research, before it's too late. Jesus Christ is not God, the Son of God, or any variation thereof. Jesus was an ordinary human being. And, let's talk about your, "God," shall we? As he is presented in the Bible, your, "God," is insecure, needy, narcisisstic, vindictive, cruel, callous, demanding... All the worst traits of human beings rolled up into one deity. Let's just take a look at the foundation of your beliefs, shall we? Believe in God, believe in Jesus, accept Jesus as your savior, and ask God to forgive you for your sins - OR ELSE YOU'LL BURN IN FIRE FOR ALL ETERNITY, SUFFERING FOR YOUR BAD JUDGMENT!!!! Well, OK, bad people probably do deserve some kind of punishment, but that seems a little... extreme. Like the appropriate punishment for a Hitler, Stalin, or Pol Pot, not for Joe down the street who was brought up in a secular household and was never tought to believe in, "God." But, wait, you say - he had his chances! People TOLD him about God! People TOLD him about Jesus! He had the knowledge, and he turned away from it. STRAIGHT TO HELL WITH HIM THEN!!!! But, wait, Joe gave to charity. He was a kind, loving person, and he actually saved lives in his job as a fireman! He made the world a better place! No matter - STRAIGHT TO HELL WITH HIM BECUASE HE DIDN'T BELIEVE THE STORIES THAT WERE PRESENTED WITHOUT ANY KIND OF EVIDENCE TO BACK THEM UP!!!! See, God set up a trap. If you are smart, and have good critical thinking skills, you cannot believe in him. The only way to believe in God is to believe in something that is only based on a book that is thousands of years old, and cannot be corroborated. There is no physical evidence of God. Furthermore, if God really cared about people, he'd make his presence known and he'd say, "OK, now you have proof. Live as I've commanded or you know the consequences." At that point there is no ambiguity. There is no doubt. He's the real deal at that point. You have your evidence and you know the score. But if he exists (he doesn't), he refuses to do that. He sets people up, the smart people with strong critical thinking skills (by NOT providing any concrete proof of his existence), and dooms them to an eternity of suffering and torment. He sets people up to fail, and failure in this case is more horrific than anything anyone outside of a Hitler or a Dahmer should go through. Kind of makes God sound like an asshole to me.

He sets people up to fail, and failure in this case is more horrific than anything anyone outside of a Hitler or a Dahmer should go through. Kind of makes God sound like an asshole to me. In a previous post you said that I believe in Jesus because I was raised that way, and brainwashed into it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your dad is not a believer as well, based on a post he made a while back, so I could say the same thing towards you. Now, to address some of the things you say in your post here. First of all, it's not asking much to follow a guide of Christianity from someone who gave you life, sent his only son to save the world knowing he would be tortured and put to death, since at that time the world was literally going to hell, and him dying for you because he spread the word on how you need to live your life so you'll have an eternal, beautiful endless life and saying he was the Messiah. You say you believe that Jesus existed, but was only a human being and not God in human form, so why did they go to the lengths they did and use THIS man to lie to us and create all these fables, as you say, create the Bible and give first hand accounts of his life which consists of Miracles, good deeds, and a perfect life that he led, etc,? Why him, and why did they go to those lengths?? You ask why God just doesn't come down from Heaven and present himself to us, and then everybody would believe. The problem is people, in the time that Jesus existed, still did not believe in him even though they witnessed his Miracles, Teachings, and Prophecies. A lot of them said it was just magic, a magic man as you have basically called him. God gave us a free will and there's the Bible to go by and it's your choice to believe in it, or not. It's hard to describe the feeling you have when you're a believer, but it's a feeling that you know he's real. You can be the best person in the whole world, but if you act on the ONLY unforgivable sin, which is the rejection of God, you will not go to Heaven. Again, it is not asking much to flow God and his commands since he gave you life, and is offering you an eternal, incredible life in Heaven if you do. Following the blueprint of the Bible is really how one should conduct their lives here on earth, anyway, but we all fall short. Thank God that he's a forgiving God, except for the on unforgivable sin that I mentioned.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your dad is not a believer as well, based on a post he made a while back, so I could say the same thing towards you. Nope. My mom is a DIE HARD Christian. Not a Born Again Christian, an always have been, always will be Christian. I went to church until I was 15. Swing and a miss from you. Again, you are taking the Bible and treating it like a peer reviewed scientific study. It is a story book. Nothing in there when it comes to the miracles Jesus allegedly performed can be backed up in any way that would be scientifically or archaeologically acceptable, or legally acceptable in court. Nothing. It's all hearsay. Every. Last. Bit. There is no God. Period. You have no physical evidence, no basis in science to believe in God. It's all faith based on what you've been told by people you trust. But - what if they're wrong? What if they just believe what they were told, and it's one faith based story after another with no basis in fact with no evidence to back up these beliefs. God sent no one to Earth because there is no God. Sorry. You know how stories grow. ESPECIALLY in a very superstitious age. Those stories are all apocryphal. You have nothing but faith in stories told to you and written in a 2000 year old book that the most important parts cannot be verified in any way acceptable to critical thinking. Thank you for making my case for me. In centuries past there were literally TENS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AT A TIME that never saw a Bible, never heard about a Bible, and had no way of knowing about this supposed God and Son of God. So God's sending them to hell because he's a s#!++y messenger? Sorry, not buying it. God, as written in the Bible, is all the things I mentioned before - insecure, needy, narcisisstic, vindictive, cruel, callous, demanding. He's a bad parent. A horrible parent. To be FAIR he would have to leave actual physical evidence of his existence, even if he didn't shout from a mountaintop, "Hey, I'm here, I'm real! You better read my book or the consequences will be dire!" He left ZERO evidence that survives critical thinking. So he's going to punish the smartest and best critical thinkers among us because he failed to leave evidence, REAL evidence, for them to find? Yeah, if he did that he's the biggest asshole of all time. But, thankfully, he doesn't exist. The Bible (which was plagiarized from prior writings, by the way) is a work of FICTION. It's filled with fantasy and myth. I'm not going to change your mind, which is sad. You won't even acknowledge that other than 2,000 year old hearsay there is no evidence to back up the claims in the Bible. That really is sad.

You won't even acknowledge that other than 2,000 year old hearsay there is no evidence to back up the claims in the Bible. That really is sad. Just so you know, a born again Christian is a Christian period. Born again simply means that your worldly thoughts/life dies, and you take on the Christian life. A new life. Swing and a miss?? You didn't address your dad's stance, so I'll assume I'm correct in saying that he's a non believer and at some point in your life, you decided to follow in his footsteps. Some can't make a rational decision at 15. Erik, you come across as very angry here, and combative. I'm not telling you that you're delusional as you are calling me, and that's because we have a CHOICE. You live and die by your choices in life. So be it. Yes, faith is a big part of being a Christian, just as faith is a big part in our every day lives. I tried to rationalize my existence on earth and figure out how we got here and the conclusion I came away with was that there is a creator and it's Jesus/God. It's no coincidence that the Dead Sea Scrolls that were found, are scrolls that are texts that are verbatim to some (66) scriptures. No Erik, God is a fair God and he wouldn't send someone to hell if they've never heard of him before. Children fall into this category as well, etc.... It is sad that it seems that your heart is so hardened that you will not do any more research as you're older now to do so in a different mental capacity of intelligence. To believe that all that this earth is about and how it works happened because of the big bang is incomprehensible. And, even more unbelievable is to believe that someone would actually believe that we were created, with all of our complexities and intricacies, by some big bang and not a creator. It's/we're too complex for us not to be created by God. Like you said, unfortunately I'll never change your mind and that's your choice. But remember, God does not want someone who does not want him. He'll simy leave you alone, which is a shame. I love this verse. "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe." He said that to Doubting Thomas after Thomas said he wouldn't believe that Jesus was resurrected until he saw him and touched his wounds. Also, remember, the life of Jesus and God is not the only event that many people believe where there's no evidence. Do you believe anything at all where there's no physical evidence? You shouldn't, because that would be hypocritical. Think about that.

Some can't make a rational decision at 15. Actually, I figured out that God and Christianity was all a work (to use a pro wrestling term) when I was 11. My mom brought our pastor into our house to straighten me out. We had a nice 15 minute chat. I didn't change his mind, he didn't change mine. But I went along to get along. And my dad never once said anything pro or con about Christianity. Well, that's not true. He has expressed respect and even admiration for Christians. He grew up Christian and was a churchgoer in his youth. But since my parents split when I was 6 and he only got to see us on the weekends he never made it a point to try and influence me either way. He's very respectful of his kids that way. He just wants to make sure that we're doing the right thing (no lawbreaking, no hurting other people, etc). So, yeah, such a big swing and a miss that you fell on your ass!

Also, you made that decision at 11??? Very irresponsible. And, please don't let your pride get in the way of you doing more research. You might be surprised. I think I'll step away from "debating" you on this since you're getting very angry. Pride and ego are BIG factors as to why some men will not make it into Heaven. You need to humble yourself, and admit that you're not your own God, and you need help to make it through this life.

Very exciting news!!! The site, The Pool Of Siloam, where Jesus healed the blind man (John:9) will be open for public viewing. It's been 2000 years since anybody has seen this site. It had recently been discovered, and has almost been completely excavated.
This site is also where Jews would cleanse themselves in the pool before entering the Second Temple.

Recently I came across a series called The Chosen. Just type the name in Google and you will see the app. It’s a non Hollywood crowd funded telling of the story of Jesus and his apostles and how the Jewish and Roman people react to him. It is a fairly thorough account, the “water to wine” bit for example, takes a whole 50 minute episode.
As for believing in Jesus Christ, what he offers will make sense to some, but not to others.
Mankind’s wisdom is God’s foolishness.

I saw the movie "Jesus Revolution." It's fantastic. It's about Hippies and how many came to Jesus. The Jesus Movement of the 60's. Nobody would let them into their church until Pastor Chuck Smith did. The events are based around Orange County, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, mainly. I highly recommend it.
Happy Easter!!! Easter commemorates Jesus Resurrection. The foundation of Christianity. King Jesus!!!
