www.cbsnews.com/news/cheney-january-6-committee-could-make-criminal-referral-for-trump/Her own words. And as it is said, if they can do it to a former President, they clearly can do it to you. The statement "Trust me, the check is in the mail" is more believable than saying our Government elite on the J6 Show Trial are just kitty kats on a "fact finding mission" and not on a mission of vengeance. I mean really!? How about asking Carter Page if we should just trust our Government buracracies (DoJ, FBI, etc) that are controlled by partisans. Delude yourself if you like but don't expect anyone but True believers to buy it. Why are you defending Trump? Because he can't get a competent or reputable attorney to do so.

See, here's the fundamental differents - Soviet Show Trials ended with people in the Gulag. These HEARINGS will end up with no one in prison. This is just a fact finding exercise. An investigation with public reports. There is no need for cross examination since no one is going to prison. IF there is a trial there will, of course, be due process. But this isn't a trial or a show trial because no one is in jeopardy of being sent to prison based on the findings of this Committee. So STFU with your ridiculous talking points comparisons. www.cbsnews.com/news/cheney-january-6-committee-could-make-criminal-referral-for-trump/Her own words. Delude yourself if you like but don't expect anyone but True believers to buy it. Are you intentionally trying to be deceptive? A, "Referral," to the DOJ is not a conviction. It's not even pressing charges. It's a recommendation to open a case and file charges. Congress has no power to press criminal charges. Even if they find concrete evidence of criminal activity, as they have here with Trump. Trump is quite literally the worst human being to ever be elected President in this country. He's an arrogant, narcissistic, megalomaniacal, con man with ZERO sense of ethics or morality. He tried to overturn a valid election in multiple ways - fraudulently and criminally. Then he took highly classified documents from the White House to his home after his term was over. HE HAD NO BUSINESS POSSESSING THOSE DOCUMENTS ONCE HE WAS NO LONGER PRESIDENT. It was criminal for him just to possess them. Come on, man, is Trump the hill you really want to die on? Is he really worth it? Of course not. So if you persist in defending him and attacking those who are, rightly, going after his criminal activies you are... Well, Reagan would have said you're no American. He HATED people like Trump. He HATED the Russians. And now the Republican party is following someone who idolizes Vladimir Putin and the party is following his lead. Reagan would be disgusted. He may have been a die hard conservative, but he was a firm believer in Democracy and accepting a loss when it came, and accepting it with dignity.

And a very disgusting, classless tweet from the "Libertarian" Party of New Hampshire. You can decide what is more intellectually honest. You probably don't like it but between Cheney Jr, the GOP, and the LPNH... the LPNH is absolutely the most intellectually honest here.

You probably don't like it but between Cheney Jr, the GOP, and the LPNH... the LPNH is absolutely the most intellectually honest here. What we don't like is Trumpian political rhetoric calling for the assassination of an elected official; apparently 1/6/21 wasn't enough of a wakeup call for some folks? Cheney Jr. is responsible for taking hundreds of thousands of innocent lives off this planet. She is a nepotism baby to one of the worst five or so political familial dynasties in American history. Let's take a ride through Liz Cheney's Wikipedia highlights! - She held several positions in the U.S. State Department during the George W. Bush administration, notably as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs and Coordinator for Broader Middle East and North Africa Initiatives. She promoted regime change in Iran while chairing the Iran Syria Policy and Operations Group with Elliott Abrams. In 2009 Cheney and Bill Kristol founded Keep America Safe, a nonprofit organization concerned with national security issues, which advocated the Bush–Cheney administration's positions.
- In October 2009, Liz Cheney, William Kristol, and Deborah Burlingame launched, as board members, the nonprofit 501(c)(4) organization Keep America Safe. It drew strong criticism from conservative lawyers, many of whom had worked for the Bush administration, after its campaign against "The Al Qaeda 7", seven Justice Department lawyers in the Obama administration who previously had worked as defense lawyers for Guantanamo detainees.
- In her first campaign appearance in Cheyenne after announcing her challenge to Enzi, Cheney said, "We have to not be afraid of being called obstructionists. Obstructing President Obama's policies and his agenda isn't actually obstruction; it's patriotism."
- Cheney claimed that Obama had "literally declared war" on the First and Second amendments to the United States Constitution
- In 2009, Cheney refused to denounce adherents of Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories (birtherism) on the Larry King Live show. She said that the birtherism movement exists because "people are uncomfortable with a president who is reluctant to defend the nation overseas".
- In 2013, during her Senate bid, Cheney announced her opposition to same-sex marriage.
- Cheney has supported the use of torture. In 2009, she defended the use of waterboarding during the George W. Bush administration, comparing it to SERE training.
- Cheney opposes the no-first-use nuclear policy.
- Cheney was sworn into office on January 3, 2017. Donald Trump became president that same month, and an analysis by FiveThirtyEight found Cheney supported Trump's position in 92.9% of House votes. From 2017 to 2021, Cheney voted in line with Trump's position around 93% of the time, supporting him more consistently in House votes than many House Republican members, even his former chief of staff Mark Meadows.
- In May 2019, Cheney said that Peter Strzok and another FBI agent who sent personal text messages in which they disparaged various politicians (including Trump) sounded as if they were planning a "coup" and may be guilty of "treason"
- Cheney condemned the Turkish invasion of the Kurdish areas in Syria... Cheney partly blamed the Democratic Party and the impeachment inquiry into Trump for Turkey's actions, saying, "It was not an accident that the Turks chose this moment to roll across the border."
- Just after her primary election defeat on August 16, 2022, Cheney filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission creating a leadership political action committee (PAC) named "The Great Task". The PAC's name comes from The Gettysburg Address: Lincoln spoke of the "great task remaining before us".
Liz Cheney is not a good person. She is not a good politician. She is a remnant of a political generation and philosophy more despicable than Trump, IMO. It's like the entire country has collective amnesia about the atrocities committed in the 2000s. If you have memory-holed Abu Ghraib 15 years later just because Orange Man Bad, we aren't going to see eye to eye on this. Forgive me if I care more about the decades of heinousness she has been a part of than a joke of a tweet from the libertarians in 43 largest state in the nation. Hell, forgive me if I care more about the former even if the tweet was in all seriousness. I beg of left leaning folks not to fall into this trap of allowing people like Liz Cheney to show their face in public, let alone rehabilitate their political image enough to trick moderates into voting for them. Again, good riddance. The best thing Trump ever did was ending the Bush, Clinton, Cheney, and McCain political dynasties in one fell swoop, which collectively had been in power for over 50 years.

I don't really care, to be honest, but would be interested in a comprehensive look. Where did I call those two individuals equally bad for America, exactly? See, that's my issue with the current state of American politics... Simply referencing how the right went insane over a relatively politically moderate president garners responses of "hOw Is ObAmA EqUaLlY BaD fOr AmErIcA?!?!?!" Trump poisoned otherwise reasonable people's ability to have civil and fact based conversations around what the government is actually doing, in practice. -- Just to add, sorry for it being late. That Cheney background is from THE wikipedia. I didn't know people thought there were many. But here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_CheneyThe information is all completely sourced at that link and are not entries based on partisanship or attacking. A page like that also has multiple layers of approval before any changes can be permanently made. That being said, I'm curious which part you think may be false.

Your propping up a Libetarian tweet that promotes assassination. I could also Google/paste the evils of Ayn Rand, Rand Paul and a party platform that promotes deregulation/the degradation of the planet, but what good would further straw men/red herrings on top of the rest of your logical fallacies do? I'm no fan of the dem party either (I left them after the 2000 debacle) but it appears you yourself are the one with the derangement syndrome.

I had no idea the tweet existed before opening this thread and said, quote, "Forgive me if I care more about the decades of heinousness she has been a part of than a joke of a tweet from the libertarians in the 43 largest state in the nation". I am literally telling you that I don't give one single fck about the tweet! Especially, in this context, as it relates to actual things that an actual person in actual power has actually done over the course of decades. But I'm the one "propping" it up? I struggle to understand the logic behind that response. Trust me dude, I am also not a libertarian, they will never be in power outside of that small wing of the Republican party, and I find a majority of their views somewhere between silly and idiotic. Yes, Ayn Rand was evil and Rand Paul is an idiot. Again, Trump has poisoned the well to such an extent that you would even make whatever argument you're trying to make when all I said is "Good Riddance" to Liz Cheney ( ...LIZ CHENEY) of all people... It's honestly astounding.

No one that has held office in the modern era has been worse than Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, Josh Hawley, etc. These people are the worst of the worst.
Liz Cheney is a conservative. So what? It is a legitimate political philosophy. If you disagree with it, fine, but conservatives may view your political philosophy with equal disdain.
Liz Cheney has integrity and ethics. She so believed in doing the right thing that she sacrificed her seat in Congress to get the facts out there and hold Trump accountable.

Refusing to deny birtherism is legitimate, ethical, and showing integrity? Saying Obama declared war on the constitution is legitimate? It was integrity that made her view the FBI as treasonous?

Refusing to deny birtherism is legitimate, ethical, and showing integrity? Saying Obama declared war on the constitution is legitimate? It was integrity that made her view the FBI as treasonous? Now, I know you looked all that stuff up on Wikipedia, but since I could go in there and remove all of that as easily as somoene put it in, is it really accurate? Secondarily, is there no room to grow for people? Or do you judge people only on what they said or did 10-20-30 years ago? And you have to admit, Obama refusing to silence the birthers with his birth certificate when the whole issue came up was rather odd. That just fueled the whole controversy. He could have shut it down in one day without it lingering for years. He didn't. Don't get me wrong, I think that Trump and all the birthers were stupid and the whole thing was much ado about next to nothing, but, still - why didn't he just release it as soon as the issue came up? Politics. It's ugly on both sides. Just infinitely uglier on the Republican side since Trump came on board... And Cheney has opposed Trump from day one and never caved in to him. She will be remembered as being on the right side of history when this all shakes out.
