This is almost comedy at this point. As someone who's worked in law firms for the past decade+ the above is cringe worthy. But as a lover of democracy, this is all I have to say: Apparently she was using a firm that she's no longer a member of? It's unreal.

Judge orders the release of the redacted affidavit tomorrow. Expecting heavy redactions, but maybe we will learn some more after the release.

PACER crashed due to overload, but so far the memo for the reasons behind redactions has come out.
- "Significant number" of civilian witnesses
- Threat of intimidation or tampering of said witnesses
- Integrity of ongoing criminal investigation to be upheld

The use of "NDI" specifically ties into the Espionage Act.

The "NOFORN" designation specifically means that the intelligence cannot be shared to any foreign government, even the closest allies of the United States.

National security lawyer weighs in:
Also stated that he had never seen HCS (Human-Controlled, basically spies) documents ever, even with a TS/SCI clearance. While the majority of the damaging information is redacted, the letter from Trump attorney outlining their defense was included:
- All documents were declassified due to the presidential power of declassification.
- No criminal liability for a former president in handling/mishandling of records.
Both are obviously untrue, but worth noting.

Why would a former president have extremely classified information regarding ongoing US human intelligence assets/clandestine operations just laying around?

Why would a former president have extremely classified information regarding ongoing US human intelligence assets/clandestine operations just laying around? Because he's never paid a consequence or been accountable in his life. Someone like that will eventually get very sloppy and make a huge error..that they cannot escape.

Something else worth noting here: The declassification logic that conservative pundits like Mike Davis are speaking on? If a top secret document (or any document that is classified, really) is declassified, a foreign government or hostile enemy can submit a FOIA request to gain access to said document.

We have clear evidence that Trump has violated campaign laws to pay off mistresses...blackmailed a foreign leader...obstructed the Russia investigation...violated the emoluments clause to enrich himself...engaged in a conspiracy to overthrow an election...fomented a violent insurgency...tampered with witnesses...and now illegally taken top-secret documents and refused to return them...he has admitted to most of these...and it's not even an exhaustive list...if these aren't sufficient to warrant prosecution...where is the line?
