Boise is the early odds favorite, but the Aztecs get an extra day of preparation. Johnson is getting more confident, but we HAVE to get the run game going and cut down on stupid penalties.

could be interesting to see what squad can get their team ready for a 9 AM game ?
This could also be a knock out game - who may prevent the other team from going to the champs game ?

I may be wrong but hasn’t Johnson put us in a position to win or thrown the winning TD passes the last three games. Yeah, but don't tell anybody. He has progressed very well the past few weeks, and threw 3-TD's against UNLV last night. Plus, his improved passing has more then made up for our run game which has been on the sideline the last few weeks. No, he hasn't passed for 300+ yards, but his completion ratio and TD's has helped us tremendously in the wins we got. |

Johnson’s gotten better for sure. People on this board act like cause some are skeptical we are rooting against him.

Our running game couldn’t be stopped in the first four games. After that we couldn’t get it started. Defenses played the run and dared us to pass. The last three games we have passed the ball. The running game remains anemic. Facing 6-8 defenders “in the box “ would, I would think, necessitate blocking scheme adjustments. Based on recent performances I don’t that happening. I would like to think an experienced coach like Goff could come up with a change or two. Haven’t discerned any change.

Can't understand why the running plays called repeatedly go straight up the gut and get stacked up for little or NO gain. Is there a page 2 in the running play book? If the blockers can't block, try something different.
Our opponents have plays that work better than the Aztecs.

He finally got his chances in those three games to show what he can do and he's thrived. Yes, and it's the perfect time of the year for him to start thriving. He must be so proud (as we all are in Aztec Nation) to finally show what he can do at this point in the season for a 10-1 team that is actually getting pub (ty Araiza). Well, it gets old when after he makes ONE mistake people jump all over him and call for Haskell, or say that he's basically horrible. I know, I need to consider the sources on this board who do this. No football knowledge, or they're trolls. I shouldn't expect that everybody would understand that Johnson is basically a very inexperienced Senior QB, and he needed real game time reps to get up to speed, which he finally got the chance to show what he can do, and he's done very well. It's very important for a QB to have consistent reps and to get in a rythmn, and to have coaches trust him. It's finally happening. |

Game plan for that Boise State Well said, and I agree that most of us are happy that he's thriving, but unfortunately, there's still the one's out there that after any mistake, they'll bash him big time. Hope they come out blocking, tackling and sacking. Would like to see Johnson pass for 250 and run for another 50. We’ll need to cause two turnovers. Lastly our dbs don’t bite on a fake flanker screen like have the last two games.

Prepare to beat Boise Friday and host the MWC championship game while the fresno-San Jose Thursday game result will be known. A San Jose win means the Aztecs clinch the Pacific Division.

Lastly our dubs don’t bite on a fake flanker screen like have the last two games. I have a feeling we're finally going to open up the passing attack with longer throws in this game. Don't know how good or bad Boise's DBs are, but they need to be tested. Kothe, Mathews and Busbee will really need to fight for the ball if it's offline. If they're successful then our running game should be a game changer. |

Isn’t Shavers supposed to be our fastest receiver? I’d like to see him on the jet sweep a couple of times then have him run a deep pattern off the motion.
