As we have seen - get the ball to guys that hang onto it and they can turn short play into a long yardage play . So Mathews is also a great option . Understand that WR's may need to rotate to keep them fresh but maybe in this game keep the producers on the field as much as possible - If they are healthy .
This game could determine If we get to play in the MW Champs game - so need our best players on the field .
Thought I read in his Bio that Bryd played some QB in HS - so maybe he is an option to run or pass on the Jet Sweep
One thing to toss in there - we may need to have the best Blocking RB in there at times - to help pick up the Blitz LB as Lucas was getting rushed often .

Please Please Please show up for this game!! Traffic will be a non issue. It will save you a lot of money not hitting the Black Friday sales and you get to see history made in person. It has been 5 years since we were in a championship game, and have only have had 3, 11 win seasons (last one was 2016) in our history. It is also Boise State so they will bring a lot of fans (especially if they need the win to get to a conference championship game). If you have not made it to a game, MAKE IT TO THIS ONE!!! It is a intimate venue with great site lines. Very enjoyable experience. (enough of my begging) Let's go Aztecs!

Very interesting to see if both coaches have their teams ready to get it going at 9 AM - yes could be a make it or break it for both teams but not sure how many of the guys or coaches have played a game that early in the AM
Take it the practices for the Aztecs are early AM this week so their bodies get used to it ?
Is great to get a National TV station game - with the noon start on the East Coast
Hope the BLACK FRIDAY is a good omen for the AZTECS

Down a starting center vs our pass rush is a huge win for us.

I'm still waiting for the first quick slant to be thrown to the fastest player on the team (Byrd). I'd also like to see him get as many or MORE snaps than Bell as when given a few reps, he always seems to break one. Bell averages 4.7ypc and Byrd 50% more at a whopping 7.4ypc. Yet, Bell has been given 194 carries to 33 for Byrd??? WOOPS, double post. Don't know how to delete it. Click on the "gear" icon in the upper right corner of your post. That will give you an option to delete the post.

Down a starting center vs our pass rush is a huge win for us. This OLine was trending to be one of the worst in FBS era school history even with him.

Johnson is a decent QB, it’s his turnovers that have caused problems. If he doesn’t turn the ball over we win this game 21-17. He’s made up for our inconsistent running game this season. We run it up the gut constantly but defenses know it. Get it to Byrd on outside and just let him fly.

As another poster previously posted somewhere said our olinemen are big, but too slow to run block for sweeps. I think the same goes for pass blocking, without quick feet. The similar sized guys who can do both are generally 4*/5* and we know where they go. To combat that we'll need to start recruiting guys who are less than 300 lbs instead of above it. At least we'll know what we have before they gain weight. It's iffy if they have to lose weight. Geez, I hope Johnson doesn't have to run for his life and risk injury. I'd like to see Haskell, but not with the stakes in this game.

I admire you younger fans with the stamina and patience to endure The Third World . I made the true day game up there. One was enough. We’ll all be rooting on cbs. Get me to the Kimmel bowl and then, maybe! Go Aztecs!

Boise will give us a pass rush- thinking this is the week our TE's get utilized in a big way. Boise is 59th in sacks, 82nd in rush defense and 39th in pass efficiency defense. They have made up for it somewhat by being Top 20 in interceptions and 16th in fumbles recovered. In their four losses they have gotten a total of four TOs, and given up 8 TOs… for a minus one per game. In their seven wins they have received 17 TOs and have given up four for a plus 13… Their offense is 104th in total rushing, only averaging 3.18 ypc… they are 48th in completion percentage, and 36th in passing yards… I know BSU is the favorite, but I don’t see them getting multiple turnovers and that means State is going to win.

Yep, I think this game comes down to turnovers, big time. I know that's a typical thought, but I think more than any thing, it'll come down to that. It does scare me a bit, about how well Boise creates turnovers on an offense. We can create a few as well, so let's hope we win that battle. Hey, it's a moot point if San Jose can get the W tomorrow!!! But of course, I want that 11th win babyyyy!!!
