Isn’t Shavers supposed to be our fastest receiver? I’d like to see him on the jet sweep a couple of times then have him run a deep pattern off the motion.

Prepare to beat Boise Friday and host the MWC championship game while the fresno-San Jose Thursday game result will be known. A San Jose win means the Aztecs clinch the Pacific Division. Even if Fresno St. does beat San Jose it will not matter as long as we take care of business against Boise St. We will have only the loss to Fresno, and they would have 2 losses, so the West is ours!

Was looking at Boise/UNM stats. Bachmeier was 11/22 for 146. Ponies did run for 239. Lobos were down to their 3rd/4th string qb and amassed 85 total yards offense. Lobos were totally overwhelmed and worn down. Lobos obviously ran our style of defense (not with the same effect) so Boise will have practiced against a similar defense coming into our game. I’d be happy if Bachmeier only hit 50% of his passes for 150yds against us. I’m thinking our D can do better than allowing 239yds on the ground. Boise did have a couple of special teams scores (blocked punts) Here’s hoping Johnson continues to improve and defense is disciplined.

You need an explosive guy with great quickness for those plays. It takes longer for Shavers to hit full speed too.

Carson Strong & Haener were the only QB1s to have a good games vs SDSU

Start building your knowledge from that building block.

Hopefully, this will not happen but should Boise win isn't Air Force likely to win the Mountain Division?

Hopefully, this will not happen but should Boise win isn't Air Force likely to win the Mountain Division? I think if Boise wins and AFA loses, then Boise would win the Mountain. I’d rather play AFA than Boise back to back. If we lose, SJSU beats Fresno, AND AFA loses to UNLV, we could play Boise in back to back weeks.

Can't understand why the running plays called repeatedly go straight up the gut and get stacked up for little or NO gain. Is there a page 2 in the running play book? If the blockers can't block, try something different. Our opponents have plays that work better than the Aztecs. Because our O-Line was built for road grading. Not for outside zone runs. Our guys make defenders on the edge look like All-Americans with their lousy blocking.

Just for future reference, motion is really only used to help the QB get a look at who is matched up on his targets.

It seems like Jack Sears has been playing college football for 10 years. I’m shocked he is still on Boise’s roster. He was a disappointment at SC- deer in the headlights syndrome.

I'm still waiting for the first quick slant to be thrown to the fastest player on the team (Byrd). I'd also like to see him get as many or MORE snaps than Bell as when given a few reps, he always seems to break one. Bell averages 4.7ypc and Byrd 50% more at a whopping 7.4ypc. Yet, Bell has been given 194 carries to 33 for Byrd???

Shavers is our tallest receiver, Jordan Byrd is our fastest (although he is considered a RB). However, take advantage of 6'6 receiver, and our 6'6 tight end. Take 5-10 yards per reception, and move the chains. Keep time of possession in our favor and turnovers in our favor and we could be playing next weekend!
