A lot of you guys would find fault if we beat Ohio State by 3 points if it wasn't the right way in your minds. Football is team game and this is a very good team. We have a very good offensive line a great running back and one of the top defense in college football. We are 3-0 and we just beat two PAC 12 teams in a row. Just a question for all the naysayers how many of you drove to Carson to attend the game? If you didn't please keep your week takes to yourself until you show your support to this team by putting your butts in the stadium.

But the lack of any sort of passing game WILL kill us if it doesn't improve. I'd like to "put my butt in the stadium" but it is an 800 mile roundtrip for me.

We are not a top 15 team. Did you read. We were saying IF we had a good QB. And we would be Now? Not. Not even close Oh, certainly. With someone like Haener we would be top 15. Let's hope Brookshire can come back and that Johnson can improve with experience.

I love Araiza but had he hit the 2nd field goal it would have been a 17 point lead at it would have been over. And of course, he could have hit the 2nd FG to win it, but blew that one too. Hopefully he bounces back. While I love his power, he seemed to be out kicking the coverage a couple times this game. Add to it that this clearly seems to be affecting his FG game with 2 misses this game and a miss last week and I think it’s time to try out one of those “5 star” kohl’s kickers as punters and let araiza focus on two duties instead of all 3. He had his first kick off taken out this year this game as well, he needs to rest his leg!

Hoke just beat back to back PAC-12 teams, including this one that was ranked a week ago, cut him A LITTLE slack will do. when you look at a 3-0 record, you don't think about the scores, just the wins. but the Aztecs still need a second page in the play book What’s frustrating is we clearly have it but we just run “safer” plays instead of still using these fun creative plays?

Not his fault that there were like 3-4 missed tackles on the return td

As has been said before, give us either of their QB's and this game would have been a huge mismatch! I thought Utah's starting QB was mediocre.....I want nothing to do win him....His replacement was decent - largely because our undersized defense was on the field a lot and exhausted down the stretch. I thought our kids layed in all on the line....great effort, entertaining game between two evenly matched teams.... Matt looks like an All-American punter and a JC level field goal kicker.....Utah's kicker was equally inept..... Our defense played their hearts out and I thought Lucas managed the offense quite well....I love the running dimension he adds....Not sure Brookshire would have been any more successful tonight than Lucas.... Really happy for our players as they came out on the winning side tonight - in spite of the " try not to lose " strategy of our staff down the stretch. I hope our intensity vs. Nevada, Fresno, ect. matches that which was evident vs. Pac 12 competition....If so, the wins will pile up.... go aztecs! then where was the passing? Is all on the coaches refusing to pass the ball?

Nice to win the game. However, it shouldn't have gone to OT. Just my opinion, of course. On an aside, we really need an QB that can do more than hand off. Pair that with this defense and we are a top 20 team. Just sayin'. We are probably a top 15 team, maybe even better. Our D is that good. We've beaten three teams with a combined record of 2-8. We could be great. But that remains to be seen. And the offense needs to improve SIGNIFICANTLY. Just my opinion.

Aztecs are so physical, even our kicker/punter lays wood on kick returners!
Although, I'd rather him make 2 FGs that were easily within his capabilities and not ever tackle

Is all on the coaches refusing to pass the ball? The Head Coach is the CEO. So while the OC gets the blame when the O goes too conservative, that's on Hoke. Look at how Heck called OT once he got to call something outside of Hoke's Martyball philosophy. A freakin' Philly Special?! That's creativity with the pressure of the 3rd OT.

After the game Coach Hoke said that they were trying to run the clock out late in the 3rd quarter, basically because they were up by two scores. Apparently it didn't occur to him that Utah is a P5 school with a decent offense, and just one break, like, say, a fumble recovery, could turn the entire complexion of the game around. We were lucky to get this win. I'm glad we won, but we really almost earned a loss here. Martyball is a stupid coaching philosophy that should've been retired several years before Marty himself. It put the D on the field nearly the entire second half after he went into "Try Not to Lose" Mode. I'm glad Hoke let Heck call some creative plays in OT.

Prevent offense is not a good look but we are out gaining the Air Force in passing yardage 101 to 93 yards per game! But we are winning, UGLY but still winning! That won’t last. There are 4 MWC teams better than UofA and Utah, and we play all 4 of them. A repeat of tonight would likely be a loss to any of them. You can love the win, you can love the kids and their effort and heart- which I absolutely do. And of course be happy for the win, which I am. But Hoke and Heck called plays like wimps most IOC the game, we only had 248 yards of offense in a triple OT game. The play calling is predictable and unimaginative. I’m not just talking about running all the time. Even the run calls were one note. No excuse to be this bad on O year after year. It’s much more than a glitch or off year. Much much more. The announcers were critical. They are every week, even though they’ve been different every game. So it’s not just so called “whiny” fans. Should be interesting the rest of the way. It's not Heck. It's Hoke. Hoke is the CEO. Heck is the VP of offense. You think a VP can do things without the CEO's okay? You see glimpses like when we're not leading, of a creative offense. Then we get a lead and all Hoke wants to do is play Martyball.

I doubt Hoke told him to to that.

Can anyone explain the new OT rules to me? They seem stupid. First O.T. regular College rules. Second O.T. Have to go for two on a T.D. Third O.T. JUST two point conversions...

This is a result of the SEC game a couple of years ago that went seven OTs. Trying to reduce wear and tear on young bodies. I don't like the third OT rule. Seems awfully random.
