Now…….whose going to Pittsburgh? Nobody on the MLB roster. But this definitely affects Hosmer's playing time.

“ The Padres will send multiple minor leaguers to the Pirates, including infielder/outfielder Tucupita Marcano, their fifth-ranked prospect. Also reportedly heading to Pittsburgh are 22-year-old outfielder Jack Suwinski, who has a .949 OPS for Double-A San Antonio, and 21-year-old right-hander Michell Miliano, who has a 3.60 ERA at High-A Fort Wayne.”

Suwinski seems intriguing, too. Oh well.
Frazier can flat out hit.

Frazier provides very little power, but great contact hitter and I think this lineup can use a guy who can hit .300 with an .800+ OPS.

Nobody on the MLB roster. But this definitely affects Hosmer's playing time. How? I guess you could see more games with Cronenworth at 1B and Frazier at 2B. I'm sure that is what Ryan was thinking of. Will be hard to cut Hos's reps when he's on a heater tho.

More time on the bench, as Frazier will play all over and shift Cronenworth to first on occasion. Team has steadily moved in the platoon direction the last month or so. Getting another bat just strengthens that, unless they are able to move him. Still trying on that front.

I was always worried when he came up against us. Good get.

The heater is basically over. Still a lot of games left. I'm aware. Those two things are loosely related. Last 5 games - .143/.294/.357. Team definitely needed a boost.

The team needed a boost for a variety of reasons. Like I said, I like Frazier at second and Cronenworth at first, at least a good amount of the time.

Getting $1.4M along with Frasier doesn't hurt either.
I think this cuts into several people's PT - Myers, Hosmer, Kim & we may even see Cronenworth resting more so we don't see a late season fade again like last year. I'm assuming O'Grady is the odd man out (if so, good that he hit a HR in his final game). Or, do they finally pull the plug on Mateo (I don't think so)?
