What a horrible outing against the Pirates. Couldn't even get his ass out of the first inning after throwing 38 pitches and hitting a batter. The season's still young, but Good Grief! Hope he's OK. All the Padres need is another starter with an injury.

He didn't act injured, and he wasn't too happy to have to leave the game, either. So maybe it's just a nothing working tonight outing that might've resolved itself later in the game if he could've gotten out of the inning. Interesting short leash, though with Tingler going to the mound twice in the first inning. Something must've been said after the first visit, they got someone going in the bullpen right away.. B2B doubles and a HBP sealed the deal. So it's another bullpen game now. Both starters have had trouble with the curve tonight.

EDIT: just read that Kuhl is a knuckle-curve thrower....guess his knuckler is having trouble too.

It's one start! My gawd, I swear over-reactions are more common among this fan base than most!
The only concern is the apparent issues Snell & Campansano had with each other. Snell shook off at least 60%-70% of his initial signals. Can't wait for Nola to get back. Campansano needs MiLB games badly.

Campusano needs to be playing most every day in AAA.

Every starting pitcher has a rough start now and then, even the very best.
Just relax, the sky isn’t darkening......

Campusano definitely needs to put in time at the minor league level, refining his game calling skills and his defense behind the plate.
Snell's command was atrocious, I fist pumped when Tingler pulled him. Dude had nothing working for him that night.

Sounds like you weren't though?

Cry Dung would be Trevor Bauer . I hope the Pads beat big-mouth Bauer today.

Campansano also had issues with, I think, Weathers concerning the shaking off of pitches in excess. They had a tough time getting together.

I don't think Weathers was the only pitcher he had problems with.

Snell got into some trouble again with loss of control - tonight in the 5th inning. While he worked out of it and made it to 91 pitches, his control issues persist, and he hasn't make it past the 5th inning yet.
But he did just pick up a win, so he can at least take that to the bank.

Another sparkling outing? No. Not this time. Couldn't crack 5 innings, walked 6, gave up a HR.
Same old, same old. More balls than strikes.
"Yeah, but he only gave up two four earned runs."
Right, but this is the Padres. They've so far scored none.

"Oooh oooh that Snell." "Can't you Snell that Snell." As Lynard Skynard might sing. Bummer, I have high hopes for him. Hopefully, he turns it around and quick like.
