if theres any truth to this, there will be some desperate acts within the next few days. Think about it for a second - There's video of the insurrectionists plotting with a detailed map of the area. Jim Clyburn's inner office (on a completely different floor) was breached. The Senate Parliamentarian's office was ransacked and that location is not something you're likely to just stumble on. It's well hidden. The organizer of "Stop the Steal" stated he had direct help from 3 members of Congress. Ayanna Pressley's panic button in her office was removed on January 5th, tbe day before the insurrection. Lauren Boebert was live-tweeting the movements of Nancy Pelosi, giving away her location to her "constituents" outside. A whole lot of smoke, no? yes, a $#!+ ton of smoke. I'm gonna hold off for now until the investigation starts naming some names. It was definitely an inside job, but for members of the GOP to be so blatant as to walk the halls of the Capitol with the individuals guilty for hunting down our congresspeople... that's some disgusting betrayal of the country.

They are loyal to themselves and the president (in a lot of cases) and know they are unlikely to face punishment. Boebert should have been expelled already. Capitol police are basically letting GOP members just walk by them and ignore their orders the last two days. Boebert went through the metal detector and ignored the request to be wanded this morning. They are essentially above reproach. If Ali Alexander is telling the truth, Gosar, Biggs and Brooks should be arrested today. They will not be. It's law and order, except for thee.

Nice try. I wasn't ignoring the report by professionals. I know the FBI knew of potential violence. Enrique Tarrio was arrested due to information the FBI had prior to the riot. What I don't believe is your cuckoo bird claim that the FBI were told to do nothing by someone high up the food chain. I didn't believe your conspiracy theory because I knew the FBI made preventative arrests of certain leaders days before the rally and issued press releases. The FBI wasn't doing nothing. Far from it. I didn't say the FBI did nothing. You do know the database stores your words, right? That threat had been present online for weeks, and no one at the FBI or DHS did anything about it

They didn't do nothing. They just didn't do enough. Not nearly enough. And you keep ignoring the fact that the security was light and the National Guard was kept away by Trump himself.

Duh. It seems FiveThiryEight is playing the role of Captain Obvious today. Right-wing protests are statistically far less likely to devolve into violence than Left-wing protests are. Ryan, weren’t you the one all proud this past summer that only 13% of Left-wing protests turned into window-smashing, building-burning, bystander-assaulting riots, and claimed it was wrong to call all of the violent because it was only 13%? By contrast, most Right-wing protests spiral into litter pick-ups where parks are left cleaner than they were when the Right-wingers arrived. It is the job of the police to break up violent protests, and if the police break up all violent protests equally that means statistically more Left-wing protests will be broken up than Right-wing protests.

Circumstances were VERY different this time. There were literally THOUSANDS of posts online calling for violent overthrow of the Congress. That should have resulted in maximum security, not minimum security.

Donald Trump has been impeached for a second time by the House. Meh. We know you are disappointed. For the rest of us who are located on this planet, the House did the only responsible thing it could. He will forever be in the history books, deservedly so.

Of course he'll be in the history books. All Presidents are. Some people might even remember him for the next few decades but if anything has become apparent over the past couple years it is that very few people bothered to learn history.

Only call. When the investigation starts and it turns up that GOP members aided and abetted, more calls will have to be made. This just shows how out of tune you are. He will be forever remembered as a one-term failure, impeached twice and the worst president in modern history.

Well, we DO know that at the very least one Republican congresswoman was tweeting out Pelosi's location during the siege. That's likely going to get her charged. She should be. If someone did that to me (make me a target, and let the bad guys know where I was) I'd be livid.

Which should illustrate the problem. If you go through life with your fingers in your ears, you're more than just deaf.

Right wing terrorist tim mcveigh killed 168 people in 1 day..and he had help too. Does that make your graph 168 people in one day..or is it like the attempted coup on Wednesday...no big deal for you?

Considering he's a corrupt individual and has a litany of abuses in his history, it was easy to predict he would treat the presidency like a business which he's shown to be terrible at. Voters tried to venture outside the box and elected the worst president in 240 years.
