Much ado about nothing. The National Guard was requested, but the Trump Administration put such severe limitations on the use of the Guard (they couldn't be armed, couldn't wear body armor, couldn't even touch the, "Protestors," etc) that it was a joke, so the request was withdrawn. I've seen the document and posted it. It is an undisputed, undisputable fact. Trump didn't want the National Guard able to stop his mob. And no matter what the Capitol security force did they were never going to be able to stop that mob without killing dozens of them (the Capitol police would have had to be in body armor, and highly armed - and authorized to shoot to kill). So, yeah, Pelosi didn't want to kill dozens of people, so she didn't authorize that. Shocking.  |

I have to consistently explain this to Trumpers: The person in charge of Capitol Police is not the Speaker of the House. Sund can say whatever he wants: An intelligence failure, red tape, communication errors, whatever he wants to call it. It doesn't change the facts of where the responsibility lies. The National Guard has activation protocols: The president is the only person with oversight over the activation of the NG. That responsibility can be delegated to the Secretary of Defense or the Secretary of the Army. Nancy Pelosi can't activate the Guard on her own. The truth is simple, and even your baiting, juvenile behavior doesn't absolve that: Donald Trump is responsible for the January 6th insurrection. |

Weren't the Sergeants at arms of both the House and Senate in charge of security and safety? Wasn't the CF that was January 6th thereason they both resigned??
