Really? So with the next congress, for example, all who attended BLM protests that turned into riots should be denied clearances too? Felons- Yes. Ideologues, who come in all makes and sizes, who have done nothing wrong -No. How basic a freedom do you wish to trash!? You don't have a basic freedom to get a security clearance. What an idiotic narrative. You have a Freedom of Association (meaning that you can hang out with anyone you like and the Gov cares less - including legal web sites & MAGA hat wearers & hooded Antifa members). You have the right to assemble (no disqualifications given for certain political persuasions). You are presumed innocent until proven guilty (meaning if you didn't riot/break laws at 1/6 in DC or 5/26 in Minneapolis, you are golden), you have a right to equal protection under the law (meaning peaceful BLM protestors and peaceful 1/6 protestors are treated equally under the law), you have the right to assemble (meaning if you didn't riot anywhere or at any time, you are also golden). If not for the sake of the innocent BLM or 1/6 protestor, for example, what in the heck do those "Rights" mean and when to they apply? Yes, you don't have a right to a security clearance but the Government can not use unconstitutional tests to deny clearances. Idiotic indeed! What's next...Opposition to Abortion can deny you a clearance?

That's not a controversial issue. Freedom of assembly has absolutely nothing to do with getting classified access to sensitive material. You're conflating seven different concepts into a nothingburger argument that has no logic behind it. Would you give Osama Bin Laden a security clearance? He only "assembled" with Al Qaeda. Stop and listen to yourself for a second... You are advocating that people who participated in a plot to murder members of Congress should be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance like it's a Groupon membership. STOP trying to equate BLM protests that have nothing to do with the topic with armed insurrection against a coequal body of government. They are not the same thing. Never have been. Do you think Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert should get security clearances despite connections to militia movements and QANon conspiracy theories? Both should be expelled from Congress.

Listen to yourself.. Are you in favor Nuremberg like laws against Trump supporters? You/she are implying virtually everyone at the 1/6 protest was a murder accomplice yet everyone that went to a BLM protest that resulted in murders are not? How stupid is that? Talk about no logic! And then to imply Osama Bin Laden is the same as an American citizen who didn't like Barf Out Ballots, for example, and how they were potentially abused in the last election? Really? All the rights we have as citizens - like Freedom of Assembly/Right to Petition/Freedom of Speech/Equal Protection/Right to Due Process - all say that both the BLM protestor and the 1/6 protestor are OK to be hired in the Government (with security clearances) as long as they are law abiding citizens and don't have alternative loyalties. Visiting a legal web site or being in DC on 1/6 does not say imply that someone is disloyal to the US. Can you say "sweeping generalizations"?

Talk of an absurdly stupid take, did you even read the proposed law? You said "participated in an insurrection'. That is an illegal act and existing vetting processes would uncover and not allow for that. Where it gets into Black-Listing Progressive Totalitarianism is where the law effectively reads: participated in...a similar "Stop the Steal" event. So simply being at the location of the 1/6 Rally (or a similar(?) one whatever or wherever those have been?) for whatever reason, the Totalitarian sees an "insurrectionist"? And then it says "or (2) have ever been a member of, associated with, or knowingly engaged in activities conducted by an organization or movement that spreads conspiracy theories and false information about the U.S. government— like QAnon, a group that has been tied to the Capitol attack. "Associated with"!? - beside reeking of violating the freedom of association rights of the individual by making it part of a Government test, what does "associated with" actually mean? Who makes that call? A motivated progressive Democrat Government lifer? It adds: "an organization or movement that spreads conspiracy theories"? Remember, the MSM & Democrats spread the Russian Hoax conspiracy theory for years. Where does the possibility for "guilt" by association end? And it says "like QAnon" What is QAnon? Is it a secret society? Is it a Web Site? If a web site, is it as bad as visiting a kiddy porn site? What does the word "like" mean in this context? Is Parler "like" QAnon? Beside the Jr High level language, it is also rotten law. Liberals used to pride themselves on their opposition to black listing. See how Hollywood broke their arms patting the back of George Clooney for his "Good Night, and Good Luck" movie. Now liberals have been displaced by Progressives or gone farther off the deep end to join them with their blatant and unashamed support for black listing as allowed with this proposed law.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with not allowing those types of people to obtain a security clearance. Do you not know what QAnon is? Hard to believe. QAnon is a collective group of conspiracy theories that allege that there are a cabal of Satanic pedophiles that are engaged in a global sex-trafficking ring, plotting against Donald Trump, who the people actively believed would still be president after January 20th. They thought the FBI would sweep in and arrest Joe Biden off the inauguration stage and close off secret tunnels under the White House to prevent rogue Democrats from evading capture. You aren't doing yourself any favors here by protesting against common sense. If you participated in an event where you promoted myths about voter fraud, incited violence or perpetuated lies about election safety and security, you endanger lives and you do not get to have a security clearance. Freedom of association has limitations (obvious) and it should dawn on you that this is one of them. The Bin Laden example was extreme and facetious, but if you associate with terrorism, you do not get a free pass. Please research Marjorie Taylor Greene and tell me we don't need this. I will laugh in your face.

They are not only afraid of trump, they are afraid of Marjorie Taylor Greene Maybe you haven’t been paying attention to current events but it isn’t the Republicans who are afraid. The Democrats have all the power and they have become terrified. It isn’t the Republicans who have ordered 20,000 troops to the nation’s capital and demanded a permanent fence be erected. It isn’t Republicans who are saying they are afraid other members of the Legislative Branch are going to kill them. It isn’t Republicans who are shutting down entire tech platforms hosting viewpoints they don’t like out of fear. Nancy Pelosi wanted machine gun nests set up around the national mall. “That makes me feel unsafe” has become the motto of the left as they demand trigger warnings on everything. It is little wonder the Democrat run states are so bad at distributing COVID vaccine as compared to the Conservative-run states. I think Democrats are worried if they give out the vaccine they’ll actually have to leave the safety of their house and interact with people who might not agree with them.

Another post John probably thinks is true. Of the top 10 states ranked by vaccine distribution, it's 6 Republican governors to 4 Democratic governors. Yes, complete landslide, obviously because 6 is way more than 4. A pretty disturbing post considering the people who incited the insurrection are all GOP members. For clarity : That's Cruz, Hawley, Brooks, Gohmert, Greene, Boebert, etc. The anti-maskers, the overt racism, the conspiracy theories that instigated violence? GOP members. Isn’t it weird how many politicians that have contracted COVID over the last several months are predominantly....Republican? Kinda makes you wonder. You think Pelosi is being paranoid? There's video floating around of MAGA nutjobs stating they were "looking for the Speaker to put a bullet in her brain." Seems justified to be concerned when the threat is in your own House and one of your members of Congress was tweeting out live movements of Pelosi during the insurrection. Of course no Republicans are in fear for their lives...they are the ones creating the chaos in the first place. They have nothing to fear because they are pulling the strings. If you endorse that behavior, then maybe it's time to do some self-reflection.

Oh well, fall of the Western Empire has been predicted for many years. The Republicans put gasoline on it. Speaking of afraid...Sen Cotton pens an Op Ed in June suggesting that Fed Troops would be good for the cities (NY, DC, Sea, etc) as future Biden voters were rioting there, destroying property and businesses, committing crimes (with some resulting in deaths), etc. And the Woke Child Mob of the NY Times Editorial Staff have a bird saying Sen. Cotton was endangering their lives with such a suggestion as they commented "Running this [Cotton OpEd] puts Black @nytimes staff in danger." The troops would actually protect them but I'll leave dealing with the illogical thinking of the Woke Child Mob to another thread. So then some Trump voters do similar rioting and its 20,000 soldiers (many stationed indefinitely even though the threat is gone), concertina wire, barricades, etc. AOC, for example, is crying that she is a victim of attempted murder no less. There is fear alright. But with the Democrats it is misguided, hypocritical and manufactured for political effect.

We have seen plenty of rioting in the last 60 years. Nothing has ever looked like January 6...not even close...and they had the fuggin presidents uniform on!! maga / Trump/ QAnon. after he incited them. The confederate flag has never been paraded through the Capitol building. Oh, and if that mob had gotten hold of AOC or even Mike Pence..it would have been dicey to say the least. At least they were saying they would kill them. So the far right (and psdthor) approach is to minimize and deflect what was perhaps our darkest moment from an internal enemy. Only the cult members and the really dumb would fall for that. It was there for all to see. Psdthor should be embarrassed by his lame post...of course the maga crowd (like their leader) know no shame.

So then some Trump voters do similar rioting and its 20,000 soldiers (many stationed indefinitely even though the threat is gone), concertina wire, barricades, etc. AOC, for example, is crying that she is a victim of attempted murder no less. There is fear alright. But with the Democrats it is misguided, hypocritical and manufactured for political effect. ps, listen you asshole. I just heard interviews with AOC and Katie Porter who had to hide for hours in Porters office. Voices screaming "where is she" just out side the door. AOC did think she was going to be killed that day...and its lucky they both didn't die.. and you make light of it. You know nothing , your posts are bull$#!+. GFYS.

AOC claimed to fear for her life as the police officer that came to make sure she was safe because he was a white man wearing a beanie. Could you imagine if a white congressman said the same of a black officer? Beside being a complete numbskull, she is a blatant racist and demagogue. And you and your true believers put her just behind Pelosi for power wielding in the House of Representatives.
