Dinwiddie was 1-1 with a 3 in the Syracuse game. Never understood why he wasn't in earlier with that big deficit. Doesn't do you a lot of good if for every 3 he scores Syracuse is getting an open look against him as well. His time will come. Syracuse made 15 3-pointers, it's not like anyone else was stopping them. And I don't remember Dinwiddie's defense being that atrocious. At least, if he had hit a couple 3's during a more meaningful part of the game, it might have sparked them. Didn't really have much to lose at that point.

He didn't get PT this year because he struggled defensively. Dutch mentioned it more than once. He looked lost at times. His time will come. It wasn't coming in the biggest game of the year.

Also we already had Schakel and Gomez draining 3's last year. Gomez and Dinwiddie directly competed for playing time. Dinwiddie will get opportunities next year.

Listened to the Press Conference Dutcher did the other day
First Aztec coaches make a list of possible guys they maybe interested in . Then take a look at the Transfer Portal .look at the guys with a good talent . Inquire if there might be any interest .
Then the Aztec Coaches do a thorough check with a wide variety of former coaches , assistant coaches , those who have coached the player or against them . Does the guy have the character and make up at BOTH ends of the court , at practice and in the locker room to see if they see him as a fit . Aztec Coaches had Bradley on their list even before he was in the Portal . Some players have said to Dutcher they need an answer right away even before the Aztec coaches have done their background check - if they have not finished the back ground check they may say can you wait a couple days . If they say no they may pass on the player .
Dutcher has learned better to fall in "love" with a player's character and coach ability then their athletic skills .Is he a true fit for the program that SDSU has here . Dutcher says that numerous times when they have contacted a former coach their comment has been You are the first school that has asked those questions about the player
There are numerous players out there but not everyone fits the Aztec mold .

we were all hoping that KJ Simpson who decommitted from Arizona would consider SDSU, today he chose to go to Colorado at Boulder.

His passing skills are really impressive ! Just a freshman, not sure when we had a player with this skill set at his size. Winston Shep II, perhaps. Would be a great snag. All-A10 Rookie Team.

Yup, assuming he also likes to play defense... looks like a great fit.

A10 Freshman of the year A10 #1 in assists Three seasons left to play 5.7 assists per game??? Our whole team was at 13.9. His court vision is off the charts. He's an NBA player in 2 years if he improves his shooting and with our screen-n-roll heavy offense he'd prep for the NBA nicely.
He was the only freshman in the top 50 last season.
I just hope "SD State" is not South Dakota.
For the record...I am HUGE on Che Evans this season. My eye test tells me he is better than Keshad. I want to see Cade Alger get more minutes as well if he can find a few cheeseburgers this summer.

I also see him passing up a bunch of open layups. And I don't see him ever shooting 3's. He needs to not only be pass, but also shoot the ball sometimes. He's similar to how Pulliam played before he got more aggressive last season. Great court vision but he really needs to improve his overall game.

so he would still have 4 years to learn/play ?
Best way of recruiting him is Che / Coach Acker -

He averaged 9.2 shots per game last season, more than half (4.7) of which were from 3-pt... in 31.8 minutes (as a freshman). Assuming St. Joe's wasn't looking to a frosh to be one of their high-volume scorers, I don't see this as a weakness.

Here's a new name...
Rivaldo Soares 6'6" Guard
Looks to be a scorer - averaged 15.5 points and looks like he came on strong at the end of the season.

Where? Never heard of it." But I have some time to waste so I found his highlights. Potential is there...attacks rim well, not a shy shooter, and appears to have a high motor which we covet. He kinda reminds me of Jamal Franklin.

He reminds me of Kyle Anderson when at UCLA. Tall, methodical, plays off two feet and looking to pass. Not much quickness or strength yet, but used right, he can be a dominant player.
