It appears they could be done with placing all the concrete on the west side this coming week. Wonder if they’ll adjust the camera so we can watch as the east gets put together. We are just a couple months out from watching seats get installed and scoreboards. I just hope we don't run into supply issues. I'm having big time issues right now, stuff that I used to get in a couple of days now takes 8 months.

I would hope they forecasted that months ago with everything going on and ordered early. More important to me, they sent out PO’s and locked in prices and avoided all of these surcharges and increases. My customers have been very unhappy and not with me because they know I am passing along. I spend more time trying to keep prices lower these days than actually finding new jobs. Very frustrating for everyone. I would hope supply chain issues are not an issue. But very possible.

However, I worry about actually being able to get things delivered right now. I am hearing this from my other vendors and customers as well. And this impacts raw materials, not just finished products. I read that a container coming from China has gone from $6K to $26K and that ships are sitting off the coast because the docks are full and can't even keep up with current production, much less the backlog they have. Speaking with one of my reps, Long Beach may now be going 24/7. Dockworkers make huge amounts of money even without working OT.

San Diego's port is so small and poorly staffed that it won't make much of a difference, that ship sail a LOOOOOOONG time ago the SD port is unable to do much except unload Bananas! Sorry forgot about the cars down at National City/Chula Vista port.

Sorry forgot about the cars down at National City/Chula Vista port. It's only a few container ships--it's not as if San Diego will save the day or anything.

The UT today reports that seats will start being installed within the "next nine weeks or so." That's great. Once we see the seating that'll give buzz for season ticket sales. Fans were too used to walk on sales in the spacious SDCCU stadium.

Does anyone know what's going on with all the earth being moved aorund to the east of the stadium? Is it still the cleanup from the demolition of the Q?

Does anyone know what's going on with all the earth being moved aorund to the east of the stadium? Is it still the cleanup from the demolition of the Q? All materials are trying to be recycled and or reused on this jobsite so that stuff you are talking about (I think) is just stockpiles or lay down areas for materials to be used later. The different types of soils will be used in different areas after some tests are done and some proctors are established so that they can be documented and placed where needed. The mountains of crushed concrete will be used in different ways mainly in road ways after it's mixed with other materials (dirt sand cement) to build road base (kind of like type 2). This is the material that gives roadways it's strength and stability if done right working with the native soil in the area. The asphalt cap you see really has no strength it's just the icing on top of the cakes to make it look pretty (i, know it does way more). The asphalt was also ground up and mixed in with other materials used or going to be used again mainly in roadway development. They may have shipped off or even sold off some of the Old Parking Lot see as though they had so much of it. This job has gone way out of it's way to use and recycle as much as it can and has done a great job so far. Just wait until you see what's next when they start setting grade (setting final heights for buildings) and see how material they have and are moving around. This place is going to look completely different.
