To answer the initial question asked by AztecWilliam back on March 16, 2020--the answer is no. I always thought there was no possibility of him quitting. He has too big of an ego, and he doesn't come across as a quitter to me anyway.

Turn the page and observe yet another new POTUS who suddenly finds that governing is harder than running for office.

Turn the page and observe yet another new POTUS who suddenly finds that governing is harder than running for office. AzWm And yet we have stability, a capable and non-hostile press secretary and no egomaniacial rage tweets. Inheriting a disaster and still managing to get things done? Win.

AzWm And yet we have stability, a capable and non-hostile press secretary and no egomaniacial rage tweets. Inheriting a disaster and still managing to get things done? Win. And a President who cannot, much as did Reagan in the case of the Traffic Controllers, stand up for something that is right, even though it may be politically unpopular. Tell the teachers to get back in the classroom. He needs to tell them something along these lines. Okay, you give virtually all your political contributions to my party. But your unwillingness to teach at a time when private schools here and schools all over Europe have been teaching for months is unconscionable. The damage done to kids is incalculable.
In other words, grow a backbone. Convince all the voters, especially the ones who want you to prove that you are not just a puppet, that you have their backs.
I say that, by the way, as someone who taught for decades (30 years regular and 12 as a substitute). And, yes, I was a member of the union and would be again today if I were still teaching.
AzWm
PS: In this case, telling the teachers union(s) to cut the crap should actually be pretty popular. Question: Does Biden have backbone or does he not?

That's not a nationalized issue, it's a district by district specific situation with a myriad of factors behind it. What works in the San Diego Unified School District isn't going to universally apply elsewhere. I work at a school. It's not as simple as you indicate and pinning that blame is silly. Nothing would be different if the former president still was in office. That's not a presidential issue.

I'll have to chime in here and say that you can't compare this press secretary to Trump's so far, based on the fact that there's no difficult questions, only softballs. No critiquing. The whole media isn't against her. I'll say that there's definitely more calm now, which is great!!!

To be fair John, she doesn't have to defend hydroxychloroquine, inject bleach, nuke hurricanes, change path of active hurricane with a sharpie, standby (proud boys) , good people on both sides, upside down bible after clearing protesters with tear gas, press is the enemy of the people, and on and on and on. If you are the press secretary, the only position that works in that situation is to attack and say "fake news" over and over. If you tried to rationally explain any of it...you couldn't do it

I'm sorry, but planting reporters to ask favorable questions is the *previous* administration's doing. To suggest otherwise is ignorance. I am trying desperately to give you rope here, but this isn't it. You're piggybacking false talking points and amplifying them. What hard questions did anyone ask Kayleigh McEnany? She's a complete fraud, so there's that. The reason why the "media" was against her is she constantly lied and is a complete trash human being. Press briefings are meant to share critical information, not act as diluted propaganda sessions to enhance her boss's ego.

Also, wasn't it the CDC that recently said that the use of hydrocloroquine was okay?
Don't misunderstand. Trump said lots of kooky things, for sure. But it's also true that most of the media seem very reluctant to ask the new administration hard questions. I'm afraid that will likely last for about . . . oh, say four years.
In any case, not a day went by the last four years when it was not clear that the White House press corps was actively seeking to damage Trump. The fact that Trump gave then plenty of ammunition does not mean the press corps should not be condemned for actively siding with one party. They are supposed to at least try to be objective.

AzWm William, I'm going to let you look up what the CDC has to say about hydroxychloroquine. Since you don't beleive what anybody else says, except for trumps Caribbean witch doctor. Remember her? Regarding "disinfectants" , why did a large corporation like Lysol have to put out a disclaimer after trumps comments? I cannot understand why you defend the indefensible... and the Press was too rough on this crackpot??..gimme a break.

AzWm No, they are supposed to tell the truth and hold the administration accountable. Are we really doing this again?
