If you believe the Covid situation in the US is hopelessly out of control, why would the progressive and wonderful minds running our Universities put the lives of their students, coaches and support staff at risk and allow them to play football? And if you feel they should not play, where is the collective outrage? And if you are ok with them playing, you must think the risk to their health is worth it for some reason. And please expound on those reasons. Good point. It's not, actually. It's really obvious (common theme here) But I'll bite - Considering I work in a school and have perspective. College athletics is about money, plain and simple. These athletic departments are starved for funding, after absorbing losses throughout the spring. Northwestern had nearly 20 players out today for COVID. They have testing and quarantine protcols in place for the players and staff. They have the resources and the system - But that has nothing to do with the overall picture of uncontrolled spread throughout the country. I don't think they should be playing at this point, but they gave the decision and ability to opt out for safety reasons. The facts are we still don't know long-term effects on cognitive function, cardiovascular risk, or a host of other future problems.

The UK just banned all international travel. Not a half-ass measure which exceptions to entire populations. All outbound international travel. Yes they did. They have also closed all non-essential business and forbid anyone from leaving their house except for state-sanctioned essential activities. They have had national mask mandates for months and were operating under a tiered system that restricts freedoms and has decimated their economy even before announcing the new draconian imprisonment of their population. Meanwhile there is a country no too far away from the UK that isn't locked down, doesn't wear masks, has weathered the global economic downturn better than almost every other country, has kids in schools, and had zero deaths from coronavirus deaths in the most recent reporting period. Hmmmm.....which model should we follow? Lock everyone down like a gulag nation and let the people die or open everything up while directing all resources toward protecting the vulnerable population? Lol at thinking Sweden proves your theory. Try again, Hannity.

What you have acknowledged and confirmed is that economic health is an important consideration for everyone. And for some, it is at the center of their life. And, just so you know, their unique consideration for economic health is likely way different than yours. Easy for one to suggest we all live by draconian safety measures to avoid Covid cases when one makes more money on unemployment than they do working or one has the ability to telework or one has a steady retirement stream or one is Gov bureaucrat with assured pay. We have had two people close to our family die during the Pandemic. One died alone early in the teeth of the first lockdown of heart attack (could very well have been a case of care denied) and the other committed suicide (a case of severe depression). No one I know died of Covid. I know some who got it and recovered, so for my limited sample, the cure has been worse than the disease. Thinking that all Americans would or will universally abide by very cautious Covid rules is not realistic. Its an American thing, not a Trump thing. Look at the sports being played (many with fans in the stands), look at the protests, look at the rallies, people are going to indoor restaurants, grocery and big box stores are experiencing record profits (because everyone goes). I put the people who blame Trump first, second and third for all things Covid in the camp of the perpetually offended and are as incredible as the ninnies that feel culturally appropriating Holloween costumes cause violence against minorities. There is nothing that can be said to convert their particular religion.

The selfishness of "it hasn't affected me so who cares" is shameful. Carry on.

I love the obsession with Hillary though after all these years. Not an obsession but I do still find it funny. She wanted it soooooo badly, and was so sure she was going to win. Even 3 years later it still brings joy to my heart.I'm enjoying the same feeling.

Too funny. If the roles were reversed I'm sure there'd be some excellent memes coming out on this election. Sadly, the left can't meme. You just know a Biden Presidency is going to be hilarious and comedians will be afraid to poke fun for fear of being cancelled.

Giving and getting a little in these political debates is primarily a good exercise in free speech and civic duty where we all want good things for our fellow citizens.

I may be animated and frantically using hand gestures, but I have no ill will and I have lost enough people in my life to know what it feels like, especially to things outside our control. I lost my aunt a few years back due to medical malpractice. The doctor who killed her ended up killing himself months later.

Which leaves me head scratching about trump. I dont want to go into my own stories, but I have seen nuclear family members and my lifelong best friend take their last breaths. I know trump lost his brother, but he appears incapable of empathy. In fact he is a downright horrible individual. Don't understand the blind following...never will.

Joe Biden, for political gain, accused an innocent man of murdering his wife and daughter. With information out now that is ignored by leftist true believers, Joe sold his political office very, very hard. He throws his son Beau's death into play whenever things are going against him. He has been shown to be as much of a racist as anyone when using the left's favorite historical revisionism called "presentism". A completely compromised individual. Your phony perplexity is just that.

After 102 pages and a riot of supporters on the eve of the electoral votes being certified, I'd say the answer to the question that titles this thread is a conclusive "NO".

After 102 pages and a riot of supporters on the eve of the electoral votes being certified, I'd say the answer to the question that titles this thread is a conclusive "NO". Of course he won't. He's out of his mind and is exploring preemptively pardoning himself. He has no ability to see reason and is listening to a small group of what's left of his advisors. Serious bunker mentality. 1945 flashbacks.
