Put aside partisan considerations for the moment. Is it possible that the damage done to the economy will be so great that the POTUS will decide that there is no way he can win re-election? In that case, he might decide to bow out, using some face-saving cover story. I don't think it's likely, but is it really that far-fetched a thought?

I can see that I worded my initial post very badly. I did not mean that he would resign, merely that he might decide not to stand for re-election in November.
Unlikely, perhaps, but the Corona Virus may be as damaging to the country as the Vietnam war was in 1968. We all know how that affected LBJ.

If it's at least a moderately bad recession, how many Trump voters will switch sides or decide to stay home? Again, I say this scenario is less that 50/50. Do you ever think for yourself? Thanks for the three letter response and posting a fact checking source that has been accused of being political biased. Just a LOL dribble post from a usual suspect. Wierd how your source didn't mention the fact 60% of Americans believe they are better off financially since Trump took office. It also didn't mention job openings out numbered unemployed workers by the biggest margin EVER!! What I found most commical about your source is, it was praising Obama but stated Trump is doing the same things. It also stated Obama hit growth rates around three percent in four quarters during his last three years in office. Yet Trump's only been in office for three years and hasn't had chance to hit his campaign numbers because of the distractions coming from the Establishment Democrats. Trump is also standing up to countries that have been taking advantage of Americans. As to the topic, Trump is not going anywhere without a fight. And because young liberals don't vote, Trump has a good chance of being re-elected. |

And what's really funny, is the biased fact checking source that the one liner guy used said it was false. Kind of like the media telling people Trump called the coronavirus outbreak a hoax. When you confront these people who continually twist what was actually said, they change the subject faster than a magician makes things disappear. They are the kings of the red fish fluff. And yes, I am in agreement this whole thing has been handled quite poorly. Not only in the U.S. but throughout the entire world. Way too much conflicting information during the early stages of the outbreak. Let's also not lose sight of the fact that the Chinese Communist Government lied about the seriousness of this current coronavirus outbreak for nearly a month. I have read a lot of information lately regarding W.H.O. And I am convinced that organization is completely corrupt and China has been in their corner for decades. JMO. |
