And how about the discipline from N. Mensah and Schakel! Last year, they were foul machines, this year they are playing much more in control and not having to sit as much with foul trouble. Good point. Forgot about Jordan always picking up one or two silly fouls a game. He hasn't done that at all This The player development is evident after 8 games. I no longer cringe when player x comes into the game. It’s been a long time.

Never, ever, give up on this team's heart and tenacity! Some on here just can't help themselves. They have a losers/give up mentality themselves to start with.

Does anyone know why Iowa’s coach was angry with Dutcher?

I love looking at these threads early on with the usual suspects ripping the team! They are always the same and it’s funny as hell😲😲 Yep, it's like clockwork. They give up on the team in the first few moments. Must be how they live their lives, so they're used to giving up.

Does anyone know why Iowa’s coach was angry with Dutcher? I missed it, was he jawing at Dutcher at the end of the game? The handshake line? What was the scene?

This might be the game that gets Flynn going. Need Feagin to get it going now. Hopefully he starts attacking and stops setting for 3’s until he gets going.
Schakel or Mitchell always need to be on the floor. When they are both on at the same time it’s a problem for other teams.
Yanni is good. He’s going to have some big games in conference. I remember a lot of people weren’t excited that we got him. That was a bad take.
Need Pulliam to slow down or for Seiko to turn it on and separate himself. The lack of a true backup guard who you can count on could hurt us.

If anything it looked like Dutcher was apologizing for Flynn's taunting at the end of the game.

Others probably have a much, much bigger plate than I... but I’ll have a side of crow. Did not think he would be impactful - for that I am a silly little b.

Don’t believe Ziegler.” First game me: “He could be a Garrett Green!” Now? You’d think he’s Walt Chamberlain compared to what we’re used to!

Does anyone know why Iowa’s coach was angry with Dutcher? I was watching, but missed it. Perhaps it is my TV, but the audio was horrible, couldn't hear the announcers at all.

I think he was upset with Flynn for the taunting, or whatever happened with him. Coaches have a tendency to blame the other coaching staff for a players mistake, especially if it's an egregious one.

Coach Dutcher must have given a stellar motivation speech during halftime. The Aztecs exploded! Nice games from Flynn, Wetzell, Shackel and Mitchell.
Aztecs......best team in Cali.
Dutcher Haters........you know.

I believe that was Feagin and I saw Dutch in his face reading him the riot act right after. Feagin is a 5th year senior and should know better. This team dug deep. Iowa pretty much hit everything in the first half and rebounded well. Our defense was not quite up to the day before and we turned the ball over way too much in the first half. I will give credit to the coaches and players for righting the ship in the second half - says a lot about both. Very good win!

Iowa was spending a lot of energy on defense and hit far more than their share of contested shots in the first half. Things were bound to even out and they did. Our depth really ground them down. Gritty win for our Aztecs. Having this one in their belts will really pay dividends during tight conference games or the MW Tournament.
