Obviously, Iowa’s big win was vs t Tech.
Iowa’s best player is their center Garza . He is a 20-10 dude.
Including Garza, 4 players get all the points.
Interesting stat from the t tech game was that half of Iowa’s shots were 3 point attempts.
Another big test for SDSU.

Just checked the lines in Vegas and we are favored between 1 and 3....What respect! I honestly thought Iowa would be favored by 2-3. Our depth is really paying off because we are wearing teams down in the second half every game.

Wonder how our crowd will be tonight. I didn't make the trip due to Thanksgiving and having just got back from Vegas two weeks ago. But are any Aztec fans making the trip for today's game? Anyone who watched the Iowa game knows they brought A LOT of fans

Garza will do his damage. Will have to rotate 5s to manage our foul totals.
The key will be whether we can contain the other four positions. Hoping their guards aren't as physical as Iowa State last year. And while you can't expect to shoot as well as we did last night, at least hit shots at a reasonable rate.

The big guy will get his, but containing their shooters, and making shots of our own will be huge. Im almost certain we've got the better athletes, so pushing the pace and having a deep bench will be big.

Use the same formula as last night: Use our depth and from the outset, press and physically defend, press and physically defend...rinse and repeat.
Then by mid-second half reap the fruits of their labor from a gassed and defeated Iowa squad.

Our guys will have to be careful. The 3s may not fall like last night, it's tough to do so back-back. Going inside or shooting mid-range jumpers will be the antidote.

Eye test tells me we're more athletic than them....Texas Tech looked flat the first half and could never gain momentum in the 2nd...that said, Garza is a beast....not super athletic, but skilled enough.....super tough kid....important to watch how Nathan handles the physicality of Garza... I believe our biggest challenge tonight is a possible hangover after such an impressive performance vs. Creighton....Like a golfer that shoots 60 on Saturday, it's often difficult to follow up with a 65 or better the next round...not apples to apples.... If I were forced to bet with the line at Aztecs -1, I'd take us to cover....

They're going to be playing us real tight on the 3 point line after seeing our last game, so we should take advantage and get some back door cuts and beat them off the dribble attacking the basket and get them to scramble. I'm excited for this one

I'm excited for this one On that note, we rarely got beat on back doors by Creighton last night. They even stole the ball on an attempt or two.

I think Garza's going to get manhandled inside by Wetzell and Matt Mitchell. I think Nathan Mensah will give it his best, but get into early foul trouble again.
Aztecs are definitely on a high after last night's somewhat stunning beatdown, but then so is Iowa after defeating Texas Tech. It'll come down to who's got the best comeback shot. It'll be a win if you're an Aztec. Hope they come out with the same attitude tonight AND keep it up for two full halves again. IF they do, they're going to be hard to beat going forward.

Manhandled? Junior, you've proved yourself to be an astute regular poster but I'm not feeling that at all. Garza's a load who doesn't get into foul trouble so I'll use the Dan Patrick cliche and say we can't stop him, we can only hope to contain him.

I’m sorta hoping Iowa will have a letdown after a high of beating the #12 team. Also hope they viewed the Creighton game as between two inferiors. Don’t know if we can repeat shooting 62% behind the arc. Would settle for 50%.

Texas Tech came all the way back, were down 61-59 and made a good defensive play and forced an air ball three that luckily fell to an Iowa player that trough it back out for a wide open three that made it 64-59... then it was over...

Mensah has to make good on his looks against their back-up 4. If he does that, watch out.
