MARCUS ZEGAROWSKI - 3 of 16 shooting tonight. 1 of 10 on 3's. He was a 50% 3 point shooter coming into tonight. Along with 4 turnovers and only 1 assist. He killed their team tonight. I feel like watching the game again to see if he was that bad, or we just defended him exceptionally well tonight. Looked to me like we defended him really well in the first half + and then he got frustrated and played badly A great thing is how Zegarowski and some other Blue Jays were getting some good looks and still missing. I interpret that as us throwing them off their game, so they were rattled even when they didn't have a defender right on them. (And they didn't get that many open looks)

One other thing. I was really critical of Flynn Monday night. He played really well tonight. Hoping this is the Flynn we get the rest of the season, because it's what we expected. That lob going in was classic!

The shot blocking ability of our bigs totally screwed the heads of Creighton's shooters and guards. They had to alter their game in order to score, keeping them off scoring rhythm.
Oldie Out

We need/should be +10 on the boards and +5 for turnovers and play good defense during their sets and we win the game... Should be fun to watch... If we score more points than the opposition we should win They listened

It was Indeed a good win. However, let’s not celebrate prematurely. Creighton played two walk-on today. They also lost one of their center to injury. They were not at full strength. Iowa is at full strength so it should be a better measuring tool.

It will be interesting to read McDermott’s comments about the game and our guys.
I am ready for another really special Aztecs season.

The 2 things that stood out to me:
1. Defense. Everyone plays freaking defense. They were in their face and creighton very rarely had clean looks. A lot of full court pressure which I like cause it means less time their offense had to get in set plays. The intense defense created face break opportunities which allowed for the offense to settle into a rhythm 2. The ball movement in offense and the movement. Last few years it was a lot of hero ball and isolation. Not this year. Guys are cutting and the ball is moving all the time.
Coach dutcher deserves major kudos for getting this team prepared to win every night.
This could this years version of the 2010-2011 teams Gonzaga win.

Fewest points Creighton has scored in 3 years. First 30 point loss in 5 years, which was the only time Coach McDermott has lost by 30 Ass whuppen

“The Jays have a lot to fix. They shot 38.5% from the floor against San Diego State. The 52 points marked the fewest single-game total for CU in three seasons.”

That lob going in was classic! He banked in a three and tried to lob an assist that went in. Also, he tried to go one on 5 then got blocked. He rarely finds a shoot he doesn’t like. I really hope he evolves his game. His defense was great though.

The announcers and halftime talking heads were totally singing Creighton's praises, not giving any credit to SDSU at all (with Creighton behind a lot at the half). After the win they suddenly felt that SDSU was for real. The East Coast Bias and ignorance is staggering. EFF these guys. Oldie Out I got the feeling the halftime show was recorded before the game started.

Seiko is a great defender and is now shooting 70% from 3s including 4 in a row. What would he need to do to get more time?

Iowa and San Diego State were never mentioned in the segment.
