Halftime, we’re up six. They’ve shot like 32 free throws, we’ve made 2. LIU is hot garbage. We’re playing like chode. Happy Friday errybody, hope it’s a good one.

Why so many fouls? That's the reason they are in the game.

Shooting is pretty cold, especially Flynn and yet we have a 10 point lead.

Refs not allowing any flow to the game!

Flynn & Schakel (to a lesser extent) are struggling to hit their shots. LIU is getting the James Harden treatment and getting to the line a ton. Despite this, still holding down a double digit lead

Good win. For the stream, is the commentator for the game off site? I'm assuming he's not actually at the game right?

Allllllright well! Let’s burn that game tape and chalk it up to an exhibition. Nothing to see here, let’s move along.
Say something nice - We would have lost this game in 2017 or 2018.

Looking at the stats...we got outrebounded 35-31 and only shot 58% from the line. The positives...26 assists to only 6 turnovers and 8 steals.

We didn't shoot very well, but still won be 17. Great sign!! Extremely impressed with Wetzell. What a great transfer!

Looking at the stats...we got outrebounded 35-31 and only shot 58% from the line. The positives...26 assists to only 6 turnovers and 8 steals. We actually did better on the glass pct wise (OORB%)- we pulled in 83% of our defensive rebounds, they got 81%. The difference was they shot 41 FGs while we shot 67. Why? Turnovers were part of it, but them getting to the line was more of a part. The issues on the foul line have been their all year, that 58% will actually bring our ft% up for the season.

Looking only at the stats... Looks like the Big Pretzel and Matt played well... and 7 assists for Trey! Anyone provide additional color?

Looking only at the stats... Looks like the Big Pretzel and Matt played well... and 7 assists for Trey! Anyone provide additional color? I would say it was a streaky, disjointed, game with a lot of whistles (especially against us). Flynn and Schakel struggled to hit shots early on but started nailing them later. Not our best game, but a 17 point win won't hurt us with the metrics.

2 huge differences from last year (among many) 1) Mitchell plays under control and looks for the open man. He came off the bench and had 18 smooth, clutch points 2) Dutcher is so much more vocal and really works the refs.

Looking only at the stats... Looks like the Big Pretzel and Matt played well... and 7 assists for Trey! Anyone provide additional color? They played a saggy zone all game. Early first half we couldn’t hit a shot. Offense was disjointed against it like we’ve seen in the past, I had flashbacks that made me feel like i had ptsd. Over five minutes in we had four points. Middle of the first half we caught fire. Everyone’s hitting their shots, that happened to be wide open because LIU is bad at basketball. Jumped out to a 13 point lead (24-11 run). End of the first half LIU went four minutes without a field goal but cut the lead to 4 because we went cold again and they were put on the foul line every time down the floor. Some valid calls, some more not so valid calls. Early second half looked like we were in for a Brown fiasco. 6 point halftime lead bounced to 5, then 10, then 4, then 12, etc. They’d get a couple, wed get a couple. Where recent Aztec teams would have given them the lead right here, we did just enough to hold off four or five pushes and never gave it up. Middle and towards the end of second half we played them basically even. Held them at 10-11 points, just playing like garbage. Missing shots, they’d hit a contested three or two, Matt made a bunch of wide open midrange elbow jumpers to push it back out. To finish it off Flynn and Jordan found their shot and hit a few that they were missing all game. Lead ballooned to high teens.

Relieved when Flynn finally hit a couple threes but not sure of his shot yet, especially at the line. He was 2-4, including a miss on the front end of a 1 and 1. He looks really frustrated out there but I assume it will come. Loved Trey at the point, two nice baskets and 7(!!!) assists.
I was a little shocked when Joel M was put in when the game was still relatively close but he then proceeded to hit three shots in a row from about the same spot in front of the foul line. Got a couple rebounds and a dunk too.
