Adding Gonzaga who doesn’t have a football team so you can drop a Current MW school is ridiculous. Please stop. That would eliminate a MW football championship game. It didn't stop the Big 12 from having a conference championship game. So we kick out SJSU and now have 11 teams in the conference. We’d then have to play each team in the conference to allow for a championship game. So we’d have 10 games every year just against our conference. No thanks.

BYU should have to buy their dumb ass way back in!

Think twice about BUY, playing against 25 year olds when you're 18 is not easy.

No BYU, the cheaters, if anybody can remember. Life has been great without BYU so don't add them. Best post of the thread so far. No way BYU.

The special Arrangement should be that Mountain West teams that earned NCAA credits get half the money instead of splitting it evenly with the conference. That goes for all teams!

I was just bringing up the point that you don't need 12 teams for a CCG. And even if the MWC ends up with 11 teams, you don't need to play everyone every year.

… fewer OOC games? While Zags are an OK add, BYWho? Zags an OK add? Gonzaga has 29 wins in the NCAA Tournament since 2000. The MWC has 20 wins as an ENTIRE Conference, every single team combined, in that same time span.

I believe the legislation that was passed in order for a conference with less than 12 teams requires a full round robin scheduling format meaning you need to play each member of your conference and the top 2 teams can meet in the championship game.

Waste of time to focus on basketball for the MWC. Either improve the conference for football (the only sport that really matters financially), get out of this conference, or this school is the next csulb, or csuf.

Gonzaga, absolutely! They are a powerhouse and will help raise the level of hoops for all MW programs.
BYU? Reluctantly yes. Think about it, the Cougars are a hated rival, something which has been lacking since they left the conference. Aztec fans used to get riled during BYU games, contrast that with the disinterest associated with games vs Utah St and New Mexico. Bring back the Provo heels.

No way BYU. there is no way the oldies from byu should be brought back into the MW. they left on their own, they can survive on their own. life has been good without them. Gonzaga-ok, would improve the conference. byu can kiss off.

Gonzaga? Sure, great add.
BYU? OK...but only if the Show can wear their white shirts and ties again.

BYU who can't get above third place in a weaker conference thinks they would come back to the MWC and win championships. Fans are wanting special TV deals and perks to come back. The arrogance of their fan base is incredible. In fact, they are crawling back on their knees for a chance to play in a better conference - I wouldn't give those cheating losers the time of day.

This doesn’t need to be complicated. The MW has 12 members for football and 11 for basketball. Hawaii remains football only and the Zags would be basketball only. 12 for each sport evens things out a bit and the perception about MW basketball improves exponentially. Keep YBU out. Don’t see a downside.

Some people enjoy basketball more than football and would like to see a stronger conference for that sport.
