He is very SDSU like, athletic, good defender, but raw offensively. Kind of reminds me of Dakarai actually, has better handles tho. I bet he goes back east.

I'd happily take on Namon Wright. He could sit out a year and then take Shrigley's spot. A proven talent who will have practiced with the team for a year. Biggest priority is a shot blocker. Biggest priority is a center that can score the basketball. When your 7ft shot blocking and altering shots is a given.Look at what Carwell could do at 6-11 and his feet never left the floor. No, biggest priority is a mobile shot blocker, that is good on defense. That is hard to come by

The kid majored in Communications, minored in Economics and prepped at Hargrave Military Academy. He played in 67 games at Wake and average between 5 - 10 minutes a game. He can block shots, rebound and take up space in the middle. He is a well liked and solid dude, he could play 10 to 20 minutes a game as Chol did this year. Enjoyed the last line of the blog: "How about this? Let's fire Steve Alford and keep Prince Ali." I would take him in a heart beat - AZTEC LOOKespn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3922231/prince-ali

Hoop Dreams!!! we all would like to see NBA talent. Right now, at 7 feet the current option is Leonard Allen Jr who is at San Diego City College, with some interest in Klavell Bigby-Williams (6'10 225) out of Gillette JC in Wyo. Williams is being hotly pursed by Nebraska as a fall back to Jordy Tshimanga. Tshimanga is a beast at 6'10 250 and I am surprised he is still uncommitted.

6'9 250lb CJ Turman is still unsigned. But has some legal issues that caused him to get kicked off his previous team. AZTEC PASS, not sure any school will pick him up?
The story:
..."Former men’s basketball forward C.J. Turman was dismissed from the team preceding FAU’s Dec. 29 game at Hofstra under unknown circumstances, leaving fans to question the reason behind the move.
“C.J. has not lived up to the standards required to be a member of our basketball family,” Curry said in a statement preceding the game. “We have worked extremely hard to establish a culture within our program that will lead to a lifetime of success for our student-athletes. C.J. has not met the necessary obligations, which led to this decision. We love C.J. and wish only success for him in the future.
According to fauowlaccess.com, a domestic abuse allegation by a former girlfriend filed on Oct. 2 of last year may have played into the dismissal of the team’s scoring and rebounding leader.
The woman dated Turman from October 2014 to the time of the allegations according to the report by the Florida Atlantic University Police Department.
She reported eight separate incidents of abusive behavior from March 27, 2015 to the day she filed charges, including allegations of physical abuse and intimidation by a men’s basketball coach to change her statement to the police."

Yes, an athletic defender with size & a big engine on the boards. Offensive skills are a bonus.

Here are some of more interesting transfers coming out of today's announcements: Rick Berry's son Canyon from C of Charleston 6'6 205 SG/SF who averaged 20 ppg last year Death threats, closed down social media, run out of town 6'5 190 SG Cullen Neal from UNM will most likely play in the WCC. I predict St Mary's. 6'3 190 lb. SG Isaac Fleming is leaving UH after averaging 9 ppg, 3 rpg and 2 apg. He is looking for a team with a better fit for him. The 3-star guard played for Team Loaded is out of Wilmington, DE. Shooter Canyon Barry will draw interest from P-5 schools, as every one needs a shooter. One of Barry’s four older brothers, Scooter, was Maryland coach Mark Turgeon’s roommate at Kansas. Univ of Maryland has been linked in the press. Barry averaged 20 ppg

Amir Smith leaving Rice U father, Joe, was the first overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft and played 16 seasons in the NBA. Double, double guy in HS. Also, prized recruit Javier Roper transferring from Grambling after red-shirting the year, 3-star ESPN ranked. Both play Forward.

Can we add 6' 10" So. Goodluck Okonoboh to our list of big body's with a defensive flair (top 10 in the NCAA is blocked shots his Freshman year)?...
Unsigned as of today...could begin playing starting in December as he left UNLV in November...

Doesn't the MWC have a intraconference transfer penalty where the player loses a year of eligibility if he transfers within conference? So instead of being a junior in December he'd be a senior. Don't think he's an option. Not sure if UNLV has the option of waving that or not in the MWC?
I do agree he'd be a great fit for us though.

I believe it was a P-12 conference rule...not MWC...and I also think that it was eliminated by the P12 recently due to proposed court action for penalizing a player 2 years of eligibility for transferring within their own conference... Okonoboh is a perfect "Spencer type" replacement...but there are a lot if "ifs" with him as well...

I believe most conferences have or had the penalty. The P12 definitely changed course. However, I don't think the MW did, or at least hadn't as of May, 2014. Here was the specific rule at that time:
Conference rules require athletes on scholarship who leave one MW school to forfeit one year of eligibility should they transfer either directly or indirectly to another school in the conference. Waivers to that rule have to be approved by a vote of the faculty representatives of the 12 conference schools, MW associate commissioner Javan Hedlund said.
www.coloradoan.com/story/sports/college/csu/2014/05/01/mw-blocks-ex-colorado-state-qbs-transfer-wyoming/8578605/
The P12 changed because they thought it was better to keep a player within the conference than to lose them to another conference. The MW might want to consider that as well, if they haven't already.
I didn't spend more than a minute or two but couldn't find anything about the MW changing their policy since 2014.
I think Okonoboh would be the perfect fit at SDSU, but unless this rule has indeed been changed I doubt anyone would approve the best team in the conference only getting better & waiving the rule to make it happen.
