Be thankful he is coming he for a visit . Let the coaches decide about his size and talents after he is here . Also remember if JH(is he about 6'4 ? ) is the other guard, we can adjust the defense as needed . A lot of D , is being in the correct position to defend and even wanting to play D . Some guys can be 6'6" and not have the speed to stay with quality SG . Plus we need SG's that can score on a consistent basis. good points... word up.

I agree, very exciting that one of our targets is interested enough to take an official visit to the Mesa. A fairly successful coach once stated "Quickness is the greatest asset", John Wooden. We want the best players, don't care how tall or how much they weigh, or how long their arms are... Give me someone who has a passion for B-Ball, and can blow by the defense all day long

Muggsy Bogues @ 5'3" guarded one of Europe's best players (a 6'8" Spaniard) in the World Championships many years ago. And he pretty much neutralized the guy, to the astonishment of everyone!
The sportswriters thought it was a joke when the USA coach said he was putting Bogues on the guy. The joke was on the Euros.

When you aren't getting offensive production from your guards, it is extremely difficult to win against quality opponents.

Hope Jonah enjoys his visit to the Mesa . Along with other recruits who will follow . As others have mentioned would guess the staff would not mind seeing a guard that can consistently put up points . When Malik , Winston , Spencer and Chol leave after this year we are going to scorers for 2016 and defenders . Enjoy that we play great D but as we saw from last year and even other years , we are going to need guys that do have the ability to make shots also .

Let the Games Begin! We should welcome and tweet back our gratitude and well wishes! Surprised we didn't have a greater response on Twitter today for both recruits, what's up Aztec Nation?

Matthews hit it off well with the current players, tonight he went back and forth on Twitter with Trey Kell and Jeremy Hemsley on music and songs. Great follow up to the OV weekend.

Roster size is ever evolving. If someone can elevate your team you find a spot for them. USC does have a lot of hooks in the water. Will be interesting to see what they reel in. Enfield needs some success this year or his seat could start steaming. Curious if there's any concern there among recruits?

Coach Fisher has said your current players can sometimes be your best recruiters . So are there thoughts that Mathews has firm offer from the Aztecs and then use other scholarship or two on PF/C - very strong need . Maybe try for a McDaniels & Mathews deal if both got a long .

Earlier in the week USC picked up a commitment from De'Anthony Melton, now they'll host top target Jonah Mathews for a visit this weekend.
