I've been consciously trying to find something better tasting (to me) than Sculpin, and just have not found it yet. I am more than willing to keep trying and of course need to keep going back to Sculpin to keep the taste fresh in my mind. Not an easy thing to do, but I am willing to make sacrifices for the better good of society. I'll let you know if anything changes. If you're coming up for the Cal game, check out the Quasar IPA on tap at Jupiter in downtown Berzerkeley. Won't likely be able to make it to the Cal game, but I have family very near there, so will be up that way some time. Thanks for the lead!

I haven't been able to buy a Pliny in Oakland for years, it's crazy how fast it sells out. People actually line up for it now at the Whole Foods so they had to limit it to 2 bottles per customer. Beer Revolution on 3rd

AZTEC Black and Red is my favorite BEER. Only found it once at a microbrewry. Good name.

Sitting in a bar in DC on business and saw the #2 on the list (Bell's Two Hearted Ale) on draft and thought I should try it. It's damn good.

I have tried a few from Fieldworks as they've been making their rounds down in the South Bay and I've been pleasantly surprised by a few of their beers.

Ballast point Victory at Sea or alesmith double nut brown aged in a whiskey cask off topic, habanero sculpin should be poured into the ocean Saw a six pack of the habanero sculpin for the first time last weekend and was intrigued... I like the grapefruit sculpin (drinking one at the moment...), but your review leaves me conflicted. I guess I have to take a six pack down to the beach and try it for myself...

Never really been a fan of any of the "pepper IPAs", if that helps. I love the grapefruit and regular sculpins, but it was a struggle to drink the habanero one.

Sculpin Habenero made me blow gas for a month. Los Pancho couldn't do to me in 6 years what Sculpin did in one night

Sculpin has been my #1 for a few years now. Admittedly I haven't tried Pliny though. The other day I had a beer that has unseated Sculpin as my #1. St Archer Mosaic IPA. Too bad it was a limited release. If you find it, buy whatever they have in stock. It is amazing. You better be right about this. I picked up 4 more today, making 5 bombers sitting in my fridge total. I'm coming for you if this stuff blows... ?

Grapefruit Sculpin is a favorite of mine, too bad ballast point charges so damn much.
Lagunitas gets the nod for price and quality. Sucks, Born Yesterday (seasonal-amazing), Citrusinsenis, and Lil sumpin sumpin are all great beers for $8-11 a six pack.
.394 by Alesmith is another great beer but it's also a little on the high side. Gives hoppy birthday a run for its money. Alesmith in general makes great beer.
Sent from my SM-G900V using proboards

I begrudgingly agreed to pay $7.29 for a bomber of Sculpin today because it sounded way too good after this thread. Thanks guys, I'll make sure Albertson's sends your commission check soon.

I have never been much of a fan of any of the more stout beers. I even think Bud is a little bitter. I do like Coors Light and Asahi Dry. I guess I just do not have a developed taste for those things. I just can not add much to this kind of conversation. More of a Vodka or Tequila kind of guy.

I don't have a lot to offer either... the only beer I truly enjoy drinking is Guinness.

If you like bright, citrusy/piney IPAs without a hint of malt you're going to love mosaic. If you don't I'll buy them off of you. My local trader joes is sold out and they said for the time being St Archer is no longer brewing it.

Yeah, not surprising as they only sell it on tap, so no reason you would hear about it unless you've been to Jupiter or word of mouth.

If Bud is too bitter then there aren't too many beers that'll satisfy you. Bud is basically flavored water to me.
