He's not as quick as our other bigs but takes up more space, it seems. He's a legit big man at around 240 lbs and has the strength to rattle the backboards with thunderous dunks and fill lanes. With time, he'll gain quickness and confidence. He shows good athleticism and hustle running the floor at full speed, long strider, pops back up off the floor. This. Plus, he looks very strong. Michael Cage said on the telecast that Johnson typically does 300 pushups per day and last summer sometimes did 1,000 pushups per day. (I heard he also drank a glass full of raw eggs in the morning, punched sides of beef in a meat warehouse and ran up and down the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for fun.)

Pleasantly surprised and impressed with this kid. A great player for the Aztecs.

I think if we keep our expectations for Big J realistic (which to me means 15-20 mins, 6 pts, 4 rebs) he will exceed them in the longer run.

Pleasantly surprised and impressed with this kid. A great player for the Aztecs. He looked good considering how raw he is, limited HS and college exp, like deshawn, James still learning how to play. Saw some mental breakdowns on defense but still very impressive, might've nailed a nice little hook if defender hadn't hit him on the elbow, refs missed on that call

I have 2 comments about Johnson:
1. Remember he has hardly played any college ball, so don't expect a big impact in Honolulu. 2. Did any of you guys hear his interview? Johnson has the most African-American voice that I have ever heard from a white guy. If you were only listening to the radio broadcast, you would swear you were listening to a black guy.

Let's see how his hands are in the Maui tourney. On the defensive end he needs to be the big grabbing rebounds instead of tipping it around the basket. On the offensive end I hope he gets fed some darts inside instead of those dangerous soft passes, to see if he can finish. The guy sure looks to be in great shape, that's for sure. The Maui was in November. This one is on Oahu hosted by Hawaii. My bad, the Islands will do.

Dude is from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, which is in the middle of freaking nowhere. It's about 200 miles south of Calgary, 100 miles north of Montana and about 60 miles west of Medicine Hat. I've been there and wondered, "Who the h*ll would live in this small, cold, windswept, Canadian-prairie outpost?" Lethbridge is as non-urban as you can get.

He's a major physical presence on the floor, and looks to be an excellent athlete. And with limited college game experience, he will just keep getting better and better. I'm really excited about our three big guys this year --

Just sat down and the Big Lebowski was on TV. This movie really highlights the importance of having a Big Johnson.
The Dude: F*** sympathy! I don't need your f***in' sympathy, man, I need my f***ing johnson! Donny: What do you need that for, Dude?
Maude Lebowski: Does the female form make you uncomfortable, Mr. Lebowski? The Dude: Uh, is that what this is a picture of? Maude Lebowski: In a sense, yes. My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. The Dude: Oh yeah? Maude Lebowski: Yes, they don't like hearing it and find it difficult to say whereas without batting an eye a man will refer to his d*ck or his rod or his Johnson. The Dude: Johnson?

I like his deep voice, it sounds strong. If Johnson is half as good as we expect, a starting line-up featuring him and Deshawn in the frontcourt and Jamaal, Chase, and Thames in the backcourt will be as formidable as any starting five in the country. Adding Rahon, Spencer, and Obrien coming off the bench will make this team very hard to beat. If Johnson is as good or even better than we expect, this team will be very capable of winning it all. As a long-time Aztecs Fan, it does not get any better. Lets Do This!!!!

So at any one time we can have a line up of a Frank, TTs, Polee, and a Big Johnson?
