And he can evidently make free throws, unlike some of our other bigs.

He's going to fit this team like a glove.

We now have size and size on the bench. If shep can play like he did tonight and Johnson and Spencer develop we have a hell of a team

The team is looking deep with Johnson on the court.......even without Jamaal. The oracle likes what he sees from Johnson and think he is going to make a huge difference this season.

I thought that Stephens played awesome when Johnson was at Center and he played away from the basket. I would like to see Fish experiment with an all big lineup of Johnson, Stephens, Spencer, Shepard, and O'Brien.

That lineup would be a liability at the free throw line as a whole. Very tall and athletic though.

Maybe Tapley, X, or Jamaal instead of O'Brien or Winston. Nonetheless, having 3 big guys in there could be really cool.

I mentioned on another post that I was concerned that Johnson left the man he was guarding too quickly to help out. Three times when he did that his man scored easily. I am no coach, but it seems that unless the opponent is going to have an easy shot, he needs to not leave his man so quickly.

I think he's only going to improve as he gets more time at game pace.
We could be looking at a whole new look by the end of January.

I bet he's just a little nervous and he seriously slacked on all screens, retreating back to the basket when a screen involving his man was happening at the top of the key. We'll see if that was first game nerves or what. But, he looked quite good on offense and running the court.

At one point we had Johnson, Spencer, Polee, Shepard, and Thames on the floor at the same time. Two 6'9" and two 6'7" guys along with Thames.

Johnson adds another dimension to the offense. He was active tonight setting screens and clogging the middle. The team did a solid job getting him easy looks in the second half. Johnson will help us immensely in conference in terms of defensive match ups. Very happy and excited to see him play well tonight.
