Fisher's $800,000 salary is worth every penny.

Probably the same thing a lot of MWC schools were saying about SDSU when the conference was first formed. Not that I think it will happen, but one of those BW schools could certainly rise up to be competitive. I think what's more likely is all of the schools will suck a little less than they do now. ..Sent from my Samsung GS3..

Nice read! At least we helped them double their TV contract. How long do we stay once the Big East kicks out football?

It's the football team that needs to be in the BW, not the Basketball Team.

People continue to say UCSB will be one of our main competitors I can say with confidence that won't be the case. UC Irvine, BSU, and Hawaii are in much better shape going forward than UCSB.

Why is that? I can see HI and BSU. Long Beach or Santa Barbara seem more likely than Irvine. What is special about Irvine?

You gotta admit though, that CSU Northridge practice gym looks pretty nice.

Solid young talent with a good head coach, Russell Turner is terrific with NBA experience. They had a extremely young team last year so the record is misleading, they will win around 20 I would guess this year, and they have good facilities.

Look at what happened to the WCC when Gonzaga got nat'l attention.
St. Mary's rose to the occasion and USD and Portland were able to put together some decent seasons too.
The Big West will not be an easy conference to play in.

It's still like putting lipstick on a pig, literally. I douubt that a few murals and a paint job will bring them out of the bottom 2/3's of Div I. SDSU will raise up their overall RPI but they will drap down SDSU's RPI.

Maybe they like to occasionally take part in a fact-based, rational discussion just to see what it feels like.
