Ok man. SDSU coaches see something in a sleeper prospect from Tucson and nobody else does and we are mining a diamond in the rough. If 4 BCS schools offer a kid that we don't offer, he didnt fit our mold, he has slow feet. Myownword and I have comment plenty of times on how we are not impressed with recruits. We may not have offered specify commentary on film, but we don't make our elevations on an offer list, we both look at film, just like you. It really doesn't matter what anyone here thinks, it matter what the coaches think. I will also say, I do think a offer list is a good gauge in evaluating a prospect. All coaches see the same film. Quit being such a homer. Lol, yeah, because "not impressed" is great commentary. At least I have enough respect for your intelligence to point out what I don't like about a recruit... Nobody else? Scout's Southwest recruiting analyst ranked the number 8 OL in AZ... idaho.scout.com/2/1203544.htmlHave you looked at that list? Outside of the top 5 is a huge drop off. I am not so sure that list helped your cause.

couple observations for myown n spgonzo..
1. If u think for one second that the staff hasn't evaluated critically local talent and passed on him, then there's something def wrong. How about gettn off the 4 BCS offer list he has and actually look at the tape. Can't bend, slow footed, not sudden, slow slow slow! And y'all want to lineup with that! Rosales is quicker, much much more athletic and finishes. Stop stroking the nuts of the so called BCS schools cuz they obviously never make mistakes! Let me repeat that, THEY NEVER EVER EVER EVER MAKE MISTAKES
2. Tou have no idea who has really offered these guys. Tons of times the information is passed on from the player and they exaggerate being offered to be more attractive. Remember the poor kid who completely faked having all those offers and even had a press conference in the gym. Sad.. Don't be that guy myown or spgonzo.. Don't be that guy
3. People jump you on here for your pessimistic, negative, outlook on a staff and coach that took us to a bowl game in his first year with a new coordinator. This staff has brought back some resoectability and relevancy back to the red and black for the first time in a long time. This same staff has found 2/3 star gems like Escobar( top TEs in country) McFadden ( top DB in country) kazee ( doak walker list) lockett (blitenekoff). Don't all have to be homers here but can it with ur fake, bcs stroking, troll threading, player hating comments about this staff and ESP the lack of respect for our players! Maybe y'all don't realize it but the more y'all spout off about not being able to compete with 2/3 stars and our guys are nobody's cuz they weren't offered by others etc, u diss our young men! Eff that!

Serious question for gonzo and myown. If the team keeps winning with all these guys you think are scrubs and rejects will you two stfu with your constant complaining? First, I don't think these guys are"scrubs". I believe---just like Rocky is---that they'll be tough. They'll play hard and we'll be an above average team, i.e. 50% plus one. We'll go 6-6 or 7-5 this season. My main problem---and I know I'm repeating myself--- but I strongly believe that Rocky doesn't have that je ne sais quoi which brings a team to the top with recruits and big time winning. But to your question directly: Yes, if I'm shown that I'm all wet, sure I'm mix more compliments in with my opinion of his value. However, it's really difficult for me to see those lines on the graph crossing. This is one area that I BEG to be wrong.

Eff that! It's a little difficult to respond to you BackWhen because it seems like you're claiming things that don't apply. I don't think you'll find that I've ever "bashed" a player. I would never do that to a kid. I speak about our reruiting in generalities. And this OL from San Diego? James shared the video and he made a similar point. I don't happen to agree with you. I saw different things. But if---and we don't know this---the coaches saw him in person and felt he was not a fit, then fine. I am specific about Rocky however and until he pulls us into the top 40 in recruiting and/or the top 20 in the polls, I'm sticking with my analysis. That's not pessimism or negativity, that's opinion, based on history of the team and Rocky's. Remember he did NOT bring us back from the brink, Brady Hoke did. Rocky has managed to hold the course, without any visible improvement, in fact I feel strongly that the team dropped a notch last season. And the "homer, troll, dissing thing", I have no idea what you're talking about.

When was the last time San Diego state had a top 40 recruiting class? Just curious if ever...
Also last I checked, Brady Hoke was at Michigan when the AZtecs were playing in their second bowl game.. Hoke had an 8-4 regular season Long had an 8-4 regular season.. Gues on the planet your from that's taking a step back..
And when you take jabs at theses 2/3 star recruits that end up being Aztecs your indirectly taking jabs at our players. If you say that SDSU will never compete with a bunch of nobody 2/3 star hopefuls, your talking about the mcfaddens, escobars, locketts, etc.. Those 2/3 star guys have busted their ass for dumbasses like u and gonzo, bringing SDSU back to one of the most successful runs in the history of the school..
Guess these guys aren't good enough! I'd love to see your resume... Oh wait Nick savant and Les Miles in the house.. Nevermind

Yes to repeat, we took a step back last year, after Hoke left. We LOST the bowl remember? Aside from that, I'm not sure why you feel a need to get emotional and throw around personal insults. Have you been abused on this board by someone?

As for recruiting, I don't think anyone could put us into the top 40 anytime soon. Top 50 would seem doable, though. Tomato, tomaato. I'll take the 50's.

If someone does not agree with you opinion you go off on little triads. If this Torrey Pines kid committed to SDSU and I had the same evaluation as you did regarding him being slow, you would say I was being negative. You would LOVE this kid if he was an SDSU commit. 4 schools offered the Torrey Pines kid, BCS offers or not. I trust professional football coaches opinions over some arm chair coaches here. I am not saying coaches never make mistakes, its just that 3 Pac-12 and a Big-12 staff saw enough to offer. Please also take into account where Rosales plays. Tucson HS football is not even on the same map as San Diego HS footbal

Things aligned for Hoke to give him a home game for his bowl, Rocky had the misfortune of basically playing a road game for his, and without a lot of advanced warning. Even then, it took a very controversial call to give us the loss. I expect improvement this year, but I'm not gonna cry the sky is falling if there isn't. Unless of course there's a huge dropoff.

Have you seen the kids video? There's a reason we didn't offer him IMHO. I agree it isn't particularly impressive. It looks like his successful blocks were always a result of being twice as big as his opponent or in a couple cases just pancaking somebody upfield when they weren't looking. Ponderous works well in HS, not so much at the next level.

When was the last time San Diego state had a top 40 recruiting class? Just curious if ever... The answer is never, although Rivals has been rating classes only since 2001. In 2003 and 2004, Craft had classes rated in the low fifties. Those were our highest rated ever. However, they were an illusion. As Brett Schrotenboer once pointed out, 48% of those two classes never suited up for more than one year. In the case of maybe half a dozen, it was just bad luck because of injuries. However, the great majority were academic casualties who either never qualified for admission or who flunked out of school after their first year. As an aside, the most senior host on Rivals Radio is of the opinion no FBS school should ever hire a head coach who doesn't have significant experience as a head coach and/or coordinator at schools where scholarships and APR factor into recruiting. Since Craft had just two years as a coordinator, the Rivals guy would have said he didn't meet the minimum qualifications to replace Ted Tollner. The illusory nature of those two classes are proof of the validity of that theory.

Even then, it took a very controversial call to give us the loss. Agreed. However, let's be real. We had 500 yards of offense against Wyoming but scored just 27 points. And our defense, which Rocky coordinates, allowed the Cowboys to gain more yards than against any opponent not named Texas State. So we lost. At home. But for that loss, we would not have ended up in the N.O. Bowl. Instead we would have played Temple in the New Mexico Bowl. Maybe we would have gotten blown out like Wyoming did, but we would have played them on a neutral field SDSU has played on more than a dozen times.
