Uh, Kawai Leonard was not a lottery pick and he was a much better player than Jamaal is. Not true. Kawhi was NOT "much better" than Jamaal. If you look at their #s, they don't reflect that at all. Jamaal demonstrated much more offensive ability, just as much heart and hustle, and more impressive rebounding numbers considering their respective sizes. Jamaal was also the much better freethrow shooter. Both players struggled from 3, but Jamaal demonstrated he was clutch and won games for the Aztecs in the final seconds. Kawhi was undoubtedly more popular among Aztec fans, but Jamaal will be drafted higher than Kawhi was. Both players will have great NBA careers. "... more impressive rebounding numbers..." 6'7" vs. 6'5"... 10.6 vs. 7.9... Going up against Malcolm Thomas vs. Kawhi led his team to the Sweet 16... Kawhi was/is a LEADER...

You shouldn't be so divisive. It only hurts Jamaal. You don't even get it. See my previous psot to how I feel about divisiveness in a team sport. The only divisiveness is between BBA and 50% of this board who take a false stance as the "voice" of all Aztec fans. If you believe the divisiveness goes beyond that then someone is taking this board way too serious. Players know who's who when they get out on that court. Every Aztec player knows Jamaal is the leader of that team. No, sadly, it is you. That 50% see a team game with team goals. You seemingly confuse individual spotlights for leadership. That is why Carmelo Anthony will never lead a team to a championship. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Jamaal averaged 10 rpg as a starter. His overall rebounding #s are understated because he started the year on the bench only playing 20 mpg the 1st 12 games. You know that. Jamaal was rebounding against the other teams bigs with absolutely no help.

Jamaal was out-rebounding 6'5" and 6'6" scrubs.

BBA, this is my beef with you. You forcibly polarize folks by essentially either agreeing with your thoughts or that they are against your guy. We all think Jamaal is phenomenal. There is no doubt but whether he is lottery or a solid draft pick this year or perhaps next but he is still young and has a tremendous upside.
We are excited for him but he is one star on a team loaded with them. Team. Lets get off this and let his play lead our fandom vice being so polarizing. If you are trying to give him a chip on his shoulder by instigating division, you are failing because Jamaal has really blossomed as a team guy. I hope to hear from him that his only goal is a national championship, not a draft position or some other individual award.

If you get my isolated predictions and opinions mixed up with Jamaal's personal goals and convictions, you're reading way too much into this board. Your every day life, opinions and interactions with SDSU players should not be governed by post on a blog.

How is that possible when Jamaal was starting 4 man guarding 6'8, 6'9 guys? A quick review of the box scores from last year... rather revealing: CSU: Played a 4 guard lineup as well with their lone forward being 6'5" BSU: PF 6'6" TCU: PF 6'7" Wyo: PF 6'7" AF: PF 6'6" You like to get a lot of mileage out of the old: "... Jamaal played PF last year..." Most of the power forwards in the MWC last year were 6'7" or shorter and weighed less than 210 lbs.

Yea, but Pierce Hornung is the best rebounder inch for inch of ALL TIME

More fun with numbers: Jamaal: 30.3 mpg / 7.9 rpg Kawhi: 32.6 mpg / 10.6 rpg Kawhi played 7.6% more mpg... yet averaged 34.2% more rebounds per game (while having to compete for rebounds with Malcom who averaged 8.1 boards per game). Aren't stats great! Lies, damn lies... and statistics!

I can see it now.....Jamaal having trouble making his teammates better by chasing individual stats and being the best 6th man in the country. This year will be completely different than last, we have too many stars to focus on one. This will be the best Team the Aztecs have seen in forever, with Taps leading the way. You wanna be a pro, you gotta act and play like a pro. Playground ball is best on concrete with chain nets.....
