Johnson is not a 5, hes barely a 4 No, he's a 4. He's a great rebounder, just not a shot-blocker and is kinda aloof.

At the high school level, he blocked shots; but it hasn't translated during his time in Charlottesville. Dude can rebound and has improved his traffic rebounding, but he's an athletic 4 with a good mid-range game who can play the college 5, and that's that.

January's team (Taft) was upset yesterday and knocked out of the state playoff run. He scored 14 and fouled out. On the bright side ... our "signed, sealed and actually coming here" recruits Shrigley and Spencer led their teams to wins. Shrigley had 27 for LCC scoring inside and out, and he continues to be our most highly rated ... yet least talked about recruit of all time. This recruiting season is weird, and really seems to be confusing many of us? We are stocked with our top class of all time (on paper at least), are already struggling to see how there will be time for all of them ... yet we spend more time talking about the recruits we don't have, rather than the committed ones? www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/mar/10/shrigley-leads-lccs-second-half-charge/

- It's a privilege to have expectations for more.

Terrible post game(Hopefully he has been working on it) Two factors: tried bulking up and it affected his knees, so he'll never be a banger. Still relatively green to the game, so he's working on his footwork. It'll improve. He looks like a 3/4 to me Two factors: very athletic, and not having a great post game gives him a killer mid-range game. He plays alot like Danilo Gallinari See above. Outside of Gallinari being a true Euro 4 in the fact that he has a perimeter game, not a bad comparison. Johnson is definitely not a slasher. I think a more apt comparison along those lines would be Ersan Ilyasova.

Gallinari can handle the ball, johnson not so much. He is a shot blocker, and will prove it, he's played a whopping 37 minutes in college not sure how you can say he isn't a shot blocker just because he had a 37 minute streak without one.

Covered him in high school, seen him at UVA, know the UVA coaching staff. Love the dude and I'm glad he choose to transfer to SDSU, but just being honest. He has the instincts and athleticism to block shots when the opportunities come, but his defensive understanding still needs to improve.

I agree JJ is not a slasher, but i still see him as a 4, but thats neither here nor there, because this thread is about January

LBF has really improved throughout the year...doesn't make as many turn overs and is our best free-throw shooter (percentage wise).
He'll continue to get 5-12 minutes per game so I really don't see him going anywhere...
Now AW is a different story...I'm not sure if he'll ever see another minute...

I think if the player accepts the fact they will not see a lot of playing time and they continue to work hard in practice and be part of the team you honor the Scholarship. It's the classy thing to do.

you can call him a 3/4 all you want, in Fishers motion offense he will be a big man.
SDSU hasn't had a true 5 in Fishers Tenure. You could probably say we haven't really had a post up 4 in Fishers tenure as Malcolm Thomas was more of a wing that could block shots post up and run the floor. Well Mike Mackell had a good post up game and was a good 4/5. But not to the level of player/athlete we are recruiting now.
Honestly its a better way to go 6'8/6'9 athletic can run the floor kills in college hoops.
Johnson 6'10 has been working his arse off on his post up game. We already know he can run the floor and has a nice mid range game.

Any of you guys who are "close" to the program, actually know the chances of January coming here and/or AW leaving?
