Not the same team for Idaho, in particular the RB from Wazoo. Long would have gotten killed yesterday because Idaho's ground game would have accomplished much more against that crap defense of Miller's. =Bob =Bob....What would the score have been yesterday if Rocky Long had 8 Defensive Lineman out with injuries....60-20 Idaho?.......78-20 Idaho?? (2nd request on this question) By the way....Del Miller was the offensive coordinator last year, not defense. Fixed it. I don't deal in speculation. What would have been the score last year if we'd been playing up there? =Bob

Close your eyes....Stick your head in the sand.

I think we will beat the Aggies at home. That will make us 2-3. We have to get at least 3 wins in conf. All joking aside....I think Long would have won 5 games with this schedule. We need at least 5 or I can't see it as a year of progress. I could maybe live with 4. Three would be unacceptable. We will, of course, never know that for sure. It's hard to imagine a Chuck Long team looking worse against Idaho than it did today. AzWm Watch last years games against San Jose, New Mexico and Cal Poly. The game against Idaho was bad, but we had some bad ones last year. The only hope for this year is that this is game 3 of installing a completely new D and O. If we look this bad in year 3 of Hoke, then there will be trouble.

I think this year is a "throwaway" year for the new staff. Let's see some progress, even a little bit for the next couple of years.
I remember Doug Scovil, and how he got canned. He turned over the championship quality team he built to Denny Stolz. After winning the WAC, Denny went on to "on the job retirement" and ended up as the golf coach.

In the two deep alone this year, we already have some players who are contribuing very well including... -Tommie Draheim----Soph Left Tackle. -Mike Matumua----Soph Left Guard. -Alec Johnson----Soph Left Guard. -Trask Iosefa---Junior Center (I think he was also a Long). -Emilio Rivera----Soph Right Guard. -Kurtis Gunther---Soph Right tackle. ***Brian Millholland, who is out for the year and the player Chuck Long thought would make the most impact the quickest of all OLine recruites. So we are already getting good production out of 7 of them.....especially since most are still only sophs and a couple of redshirt frosh. If Hoke can add he own special touch to that group, we will be ok in that area for the next 4-5 years. None of those guys look any good to me, never have. Nobody has even seen 5 of those 7 until two weeks ago. They are RS Frosh and Sophs.

Chuck Long wouldn't have lost to Idaho. Well we have no way of knowing that. I'd say he would have. After all, there were lots of his recruits out there. What I DO know is that he lsot to Cal Poly twice. Cal Poly was rated #97 in the nation......Idaho was ranked #146. No comparison in the two teams. Your right. We don't know if Long would have won at Idaho. I say he would have beat UCLA too. We would be 3-0. That is about as crazy of statement as saying Long wouldn't beat Idaho. He beat them a year ago by 30 points. He wouldn't be trying to run the ball and he would be spreading the field with the receiver, pass blockers, and QB we have. Aztecs would have beat them by 30 again.

Totally pathetic answer based upon nothing more than your obsession with defending Long. I was willing to give him another season if he got rid of Elliot and Miller. At this point, I seriously doubt he would have canned either one of them. =Bob

One difference between Steve and you, Pooh. Steve doesn't lie in order to "pick on someone" (or more to the point, to attempt to discredit someone). I've already told you that I've lost virtually all respect for you because of your willingness to lie. That's the reason you don't see me posting much of anything on the political forums and most likely why you won't see me going out of my way to talk to you when you show up at the tailgates. I find it pathetic that a man of your age would resort to such childish tactics, but I shouldn't be surprised given the fact that you've done it in the past. Sorry, but you are simply someone who I believe I cannot trust. And that is not a troll, it's the honest to God truth. =Bob

Ha....But =Bob is just so easy to pick on. Steve, how would you feel if someone lied by claiming you took an action that you didn't take while claiming you didn't remember doing it because you were drunk? Hell, you're pissed off at Zip for moving your comments without telling you and that's nothing compared to what Pooh claimed I did. I get pissed off easily, but I usually don't hang on to it for very long. What Pooh did I'm hanging on to because it was juvenile beyond belief and it was very much beyond the pale because it was in line with the insults that Joe has offered about me. Trolling is an art and picking on someone is part of it. But the trolls have to have some basis in reality and lying for the purpose of defaming someone is not a troll, it's an attack. I'm sure Pooh figured if he did that, Zip might toss me as moderator, but to this point, he has been very supportive of everything I've done. So Pooh has lost twice - he's exposed himself to be someone who is willing to lie if he can gain an advantage from it and he failed to get Zip to remove me as moderator of the OT forum. And actually, he's lost 3 times because he's also lost pretty much all respect I held for him. =Bob

Count sacks all you want, but also count hurries while you're at it. Did you even watch the game? Lindley is getting maybe 3 seconds in the pocket. I am quite willing to admit that the O-Line is young on the left side and am more than willing to give them another year, particularly Draheim, who I believe played center during his HS years and was recruited as a center, but claiming the pass blocking has been fantastic simply based upon the lack of sacks is ridiculous. Lindley is not consider all that mobile, but I'd give him more credit for avoiding sacks by rolling out that I would give the O-Line for keeping him safe. And aside from all that, I've discussed this by PM with some of the HS coaches who are on AT and who the Aztec coaches are willing to talk to and they have told me that Hoke and his staff feel there simply isn't much O-Line talent among Long's recruits as well as not much talent on the D-Line. =Bob

The pass blocking has been fine.
