Skylar and Dwayne are going to be swatting some shots! That will be a beautiful thing! I wont lie, i've missed Malcolm Thomas's swats this year. I think Spencer is going to be a monster for us. Love it!

I think the article says he had 10 points.

Huh? He had 10 points 14 rebounds and 4 blocked shots against a very good team. Where did you come up with "no points?" He was also getting lots of love on twitter from the scouts in attendance. Here is a tweet from Josh Gershon (Scout.com) "Skylar Spencer has really played well on both ends in this third quarter. Blocking shots on defense and converting around basket."

Spencer (Price) had a huge, upset win last night over LA Compton and Spencer had another triple-double with 14pts, 13rbs and 10blks.
He's had a few triple-doubles this year and although he's not scoring a ton, he is controlling games with his rebounds and blocks, similar to what Angelo Chol did in high school. I love Spencer's upside, but how much can he really contribute as a freshman?
Chol (who was arguably a much better high school player) is only averaging 12 mins, 2.5 pts, 2.5 rbs and 1 blk per game, mainly because they have experienced bigs in front of him.
Will Spencer's numbers be better? I can't wait to see how much improved O'Brien and Stephens are next year and if Spencer can actually push them for minutes?

Anyone who watched Chol his 4 years in high school knew that he was overrated by his senior year, he showed a lot of raw offensive talent as a freshman but it never devoloped. He basically got by for a couple reasons, first of all his size, he had a true PG that helped him a ton, he could put up numbers because Hoover is in an easy league also. Spencer won't put up the numbers Chol will on offensive end because Price has multiple D1 prospects (Chance Murray is the main guy and has offers from whole pac 12 basically) also Price plays a much tougher national schedule. Basically as a freshman i would expect him to average 8/8/2 per 30 minutes played.

If he can play defense and rebound, which he can, he won't be a liability on the floor as a freshman. Also, most of his points come from dunks or easy layins, for now that's just fine. I like our coaching staff a heck of a lot more than Arizona's, who gets 4 and 5 star recruits to severely underperform. All Fish has done is taken underrated after underrated recruits and turned them into stars or above average college players. So fo the comparison, I think Spencer has a better freshman year than Choi and a better career too.

With who we have coming in/returning I don't see any way Fish gets Spencer 30 mins a game. Probably more like 10-15 minutes a game.

Spencer needs to start working on his free throws now though.

I agree, 10-15 minutes a game is about right.
