Or it was such a stupid thing to say that he needs to be beaten over the head with it the rest of his career..... He was filling in time on a radio show. Coaches do it every day. Actually, Steve, quoting Associated Press: “We hope everybody’s going to be along for the ride, because it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Long said Saturday at his introductory news conference.Reaction: It might have been a lot of fun for Chuck; for the rest of us, not so much. |

I don't see anything wrong with that comment. Again, what did fans expect him to say....Maybe something like this in his first year... "The next three years are going to be miserable. We are going to lose to Cal Poly twice, have 25 season ending injuries to players, have no depth, no upper class leadership (in quantity), and all you fans are going to be wanting to hang me. I just thought I would let all of you know that up front."  |
