Still don't grasp the fact that they improved and we didn't. And it was an AZTEC road game- look up our record the last 5 years- you wouldn't be surprised we lost. I'm not. Pissed? You bet. Surprised? Nope. And we lost by 14. Watch out in Las Cruces. John....we beat Idaho by 25 at Qualcomm with Chuck Long and then went to Idaho and lost by 10. You still don't grasp that we beat Idaho by 25 at home with the worst coach in the history of the game (according to you and others)... And lost one year later to the same team by 14 with a coach that many of you are thrilled to death with (and I like) and you think he is a Hall Of Fame Coach as compared to Chuck Long.  |

If you can't see the difference in the team between last year and the previous three, then I can't help you. You still don't grasp that we beat Idaho by 25 at home with the worst coach in the history of the game (according to you and others)... And lost one year later to the same team by 14 with a coach that many of you are thrilled to death with (and I like) and you think he is a Hall Of Fame Coach as compared to Chuck Long. |

Steve, this Chuck Long fetish you have completely destroys your credibility. You should probably drop the subject. The fact remains that CL turned the Aztecs from below average to doormat. He didn't deserve any more time because the program was not competitive nor did it show any signs of becoming so in the foreseeable future. His players didn't' buy into the system and quit in several games including New Mexico's 70 point thrashing. Two losses to Cal Poly.... 'nuff said. |

That game was 17-17 with 12 to go. Took two TOs deep in NMSU territory to seal it. Way closer game than the final score. NMSU beat a Lobo team in the ABQ that we struggled with at home. Our road record the past X seasons is not only awful, its really unbelievably awful. My guess? Take the Aggies and the 10. We'll blow it. You've convinced me the line will be lower. I'll say SDSU -7. However, I guarantee that John will be incorrect about us being the underdog. Doesn't mean I'll put a penny on the Aztecs, however. If I do that for any game this year, it's going to be Utah. (They won't cover the 24.) |

Well, again some don't read and comprehend very well. I have said multiple times that I love the direction we are going now, that I see improvement in all areas with this staff over the last, that I am very happy with this staff, and that this staff is much better than the last staff in my opinion. I can't wait to see Brady Hoke continue to build the program and win this year and next with Chuck Longs recruits. Some of you are so blind with your hatred (or refusal to agree that all is not Chuck Longs fault) of the previous staff that you aren't able to speak the truth. You only want to "blame". Again, that is for the followers, not me. |

All I have said was that he should have got a 4th year, as any coach would have deserved taking over this program (whether his name is Chuck Long or not). My credibility would only be destroyed by those that don't take the time to open their mind and understand what I am saying. Most don't, and that is ok. If THAT destroys my credibility, then so be it. On Cal Poly, you seem to not get the point. The same people on this board that rag on Chuck Long all the time and blamed him for everything, are willing to (see SGF and Andre) accept a loss to New Mexico State or Utah State this year. The Cal Poly team we lost to twice was better than both the New Mexico State team and the Utah State team we play this year. And that comment has nothing to do with a "fetish". It is the truth. Neither of those teams will be ranked as high as Cal Poly was. The 70-7 loss was due to massive injuries on the DLine, youth, and inexperience. And it isn't that Chuck Longs players didn't buy into his system at that time. Tom Crafts players did not buy into Chuck Longs system at that time. The fetish is with the others who continually blame Chuck Long for everything. They are blind followers with no mind of their own. And lastly AM. I will completely drop the subject about Chuck Long when all of fans on this board completely drop the subject about Chuck Long. Let me ask you AM....Why should I completely drop the subject, if others don't? |

I read and comprehend just fine. And I don't hate Chuck Long, I just think he is one of the worst head coaches I've ever seen and didn't deserve a 4th, 5th, or 100th year to turn things around. Because it NEVER would have happened. I'm glad you feel Hoke is changing things for the better- I do too, however, I don't think Hoke is a HOFer compared to Long, but at least his players (Long's recruits) didn't flat out quit on him- I don't think they will. Thats says it all to me. If you can't see the difference in the team between last year and the previous three, then I can't help you. Well, again some don't read and comprehend very well. What did fans expect him to say? It is coach speak and nothing more. Yet, it is used over and over by fans to try and "prove" that they are correct that Chuck Long was the devil himself, when actually it only proves that they are following what other have said and pile on. Exactly what I've been talking about for 2 years. |

Over used also and means nothing. What did you expect him to say.....I'm going to lose and lose now? The only reason anyone even remembers that is the Aztecs used it on Promos. |
