Does that make you happy? I mean that it seems to validate your opinion and all?

One thing is for sure, Sullivan is pissed at Long for not letting him talk to the student/athletes.

Does that make you happy? I mean that it seems to validate your opinion and all? to be honest, after all is said and done, I feel pretty bad for the kid. Its obvious he didnt go into the game expecting he'd of played so poorly. I'm sure he wanted to go in against his old coach and show him something. Its a horrible burden having to be the harbinger of doom;) I really wanted to see him do well, but I knew, having watched his tendencies the last few years, he was going to have it rough. He did, and that is that.

You have made your disdain for Lindley completely obvious for as long as I can remember. Obviously you are free to do as you please but you really don't need to continue with your message as often as you think you do for us all to understand your position.

I guess Sullivan had to fill a certain word count for the story and decided to rip on Long for 3 paragraphs to hit the quota.

"In the absence of an official explanation, speculation centers on Long's annoyance at the amount of media attention paid to Hoke before the game. College football coaches are not all petty, egocentric tyrants, of course, but that’s the percentage play."
What a douche.
Here was my response:
"Tough game to watch and feel horrible for the Aztec Nation. Feel worse for the poor media who didn't get to talk to the players after the game to get an official reason why we lost. WTF? Are you guys watching the game? We all saw what happened. Ask the players another time if it bothers you that much. All sportswriters are not petty, egocentric tyrants, of course, but 99% of them in this city seem to be."

And exactly how many times will we see you whining about Lindley on here? I really have to wonder how you would do if you'd managed to play college ball. =Bob

Lindley and Hillman both had arguably the worst games in their careers. Long was probably looking out for them in regards to media attention after the game, since these kids were proabably feeling pretty emotional and/or devastated after the loss.
I agree the writer is a douche for even speculating why Long didn't allow them to speak to the media.

Why didnt long let the players talk...they are collegiate players after all As I posted in another thread, perhaps he was embarrassed that all week he claimed it was just another game, then installed a new method of delivering sings to the players. No wonder they weren't on the same page.
