"petty, egocentric tyrant" ouch Sullivan, let up a bit you can say that again, Sullivan could have been a tidbit more subtle... Why?? It was inexcusable for coach to forbid interviews, with the reason being "I said so".

One thing is for sure, Sullivan is pissed at Long for not letting him talk to the student/athletes. Note to Sullivan: If you don't like it, feel free to stick it where the sun don't shine. Please don't EVER complain that the Aztecs don't get enough coverage!

And exactly how many times will we see you whining about Lindley on here? I really have to wonder how you would do if you'd managed to play college ball. =Bob Hey, Bob. I knew it was only a matter of time before you showed your face around here. I'm sorry if you've grown tired of my whining/complaining. to give you credit, I have being doing so for your benefit. I know how much you enjoy responding to such things. now, to answer your questions. 1) I will whine and complain as much as I please about what I please, be it a matter of high agitation, or trivial ramification. complexities make my life far more interesting, and give a certain texture, flavor, that I find savory. yes, I'm single. 2) I would not have fared very well in any collegiate sport. I was probably an above average athlete in my prime. I couldn't throw the ball more than 55 yards through the air, I ran about a 4.8 40 yard dash at my fastest. I couldn't stand on the same field with any of those athletes on that field today.

Why is it inexcusable for a coach to forbid interviews after an embarrassing loss? And if you've heard Rocky speak in interviews at all, he's not one to blow smoke up your ass. Would you prefer he hem and haw and gush out coach-speak like Hoke and basically get to the same point?

No, I'd prefer that he allowed at least the captains to be interviewed. They are big boys now.

I agree with Bearfoot. I think we can all agree, that if the Aztecs won, the players would be very accessible. I don't think a couple of questions in a controlled enviroment, is too much to ask, especially from a Senior leader such as Lindley.

Right, Burris and Lindley. Both captains, both bright kids who have good experience with the press.

Why didnt long let the players talk...they are collegiate players after all As I posted in another thread, perhaps he was embarrassed that all week he claimed it was just another game, then installed a new method of delivering sings to the players. No wonder they weren't on the same page. Sure, use the same signals and wonder afterwards if Michigan success was a result of them knowing the signals. Coaching staff would look pretty brilliant then.

I don't have an issue with Rocky's decision on the player interviews.I also love his honesty and straight forward approach in interviews. However, this latest episode does not bode well for our program. The U/T has done a good job of covering us for the last year and half. Very fair and balanced. I can tell you for sure that a rift has developed over the last week regarding Michigan "honking". Rocky's response on the interview question (not the decision itself) doesn't help and was insulting to them. Like it or not, we need these guys on our side and not looking for excuses to bash SDSU athletics. A little diplomacy is needed without sacrificing your principles.

as far as issues about our Aztecs, Sullivan's feelings are FAR down on my list

Coach's team - Coach makes the rules. If he doesn't want his players to face the media after an emotional, disappointing game, that's his decision. Of course, he has the responsibility of making himself available, which he certainly did.

This is wonderful talk show fodder, there are already opposing opinions in the comment section of the story.

Isn't there a media day on Tuesday where the Press Can ask any question they want to the kids? Isn't Sullivan being just as petty or is he pissed because he had something else to do on Tuesday.
But one thing is certain, Rocky wanted this game behind his team but with the bye they will get to hear about for two more weeks.

Rocky has the back of his kids and I support him for that. I would do the same for anyone associated with my team that needed a shield from the heat.
What quote does the media need from Lindley? Hillman?
"Boy, Ryan, you really sucked it up today. What were you thinking?"
"Ronnie, you haven't fumbled the ball since your first carry as a freshman. I'm sorry that I said that you were ready for the NFL. Why did you let me down and make me look bad?"
Perhaps, this game will end up being even more of a growing and teaching experience than we thought.

That is the way Rocky Long is he is sarcastic can be sullen and nasty. He was worn down by all the Michigan Hoke crap. Then his team came out and played like crap. Lindley is not a great QB,and Michigan is not as good as they think they are either. I am not as smart as I think I am etc and so on. Sullivan took a similar tact though not as virulent with Hoke. SDSU is two years away from being a really good team.So what do I really care what a Boston Irishman thinks. Well about Beer maybe

Isn't Sullivan being just as petty or is he pissed because he had something else to do on Tuesday. Sure seems petty to me. Let's look at it this way. IIRC, you're self employed as I am. Every once in awhile I feel used and abused by one of my customers. I'm sure you do too. However, I'll bet that, like me, you deal with it by just going off somewhere and blowing off steam by telling yourself or your wife what a douchbag you think the customer was. Like me, you don't go bitching and moaning to the world about it like Sullivan did.
