That is the way Rocky Long is he is sarcastic can be sullen and nasty. He was worn down by all the Michigan Hoke crap. Then his team came out and played like crap. Lindley is not a great QB,and Michigan is not as good as they think they are either. I am not as smart as I think I am etc and so on. Sullivan took a similar tact though not as virulent with Hoke. SDSU is two years away from being a really good team.So what do I really care what a Boston Irishman thinks. Well about Beer maybe No doubt Rocky was pissed about our showing in this game. Whatever or however he works the team and Lindley during these next two weeks is anybody's guess. As a result let's hope Lindley doesn't press against TCU. That could end up even more disasterous.

How do you go about addressing your team when they play like that? I would not even begin to know how to navigate such waters. I'm glad I dont have to be in that locker room, or on that trip home. Long seemed pretty confident going into the game... ouch.

One thing is for sure, Sullivan is pissed at Long for not letting him talk to the student/athletes. This game was different for the team. I have no problem with no team interviews. I think they need a break for all the Hoke talk. and they needed a break from "we miss our coaches" so why in hell did Long use those photo cards to call D assignments? What is this, Pop Warner? How distracting and humiliatiing for the D with Michigan's offense laughing at them. Hasn't Long heard about baseball signals with multiple coaches throwing signs, only one of them hot? Coach Long needs to drop the New Mex small time mentality and go big.

And was Michigans offense laughing in the second half?

When was the last time you can remember a reporter not being pissed about a coach that wouldn't let them interview players after a big loss? Never, that's what reporters do and Rocky did what coaches do. No big deal. I liked Rocky's answer: "Because I said so." Classic. He was probably pissed off and didn't want anyone around. Understandable. So was Sullivan's response--having spent all the UT's bucks on a trip to Ann Arbor and no story, well... The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Where the hell was Lindley throwing the ball? I'm sure some of the misdirected passes had something to do with the WR running the wrong route but......

What quote does the media need from Lindley? Hillman?
"Boy, Ryan, you really sucked it up today. What were you thinking?"
"Ronnie, you haven't fumbled the ball since your first carry as a freshman. I'm sorry that I said that you were ready for the NFL. Why did you let me down and make me look bad?"
Priceless
My 2 cents: Since when is having a press credential - or season tickets - reason for these young men to be beholden to every writer and/or fan's instatiable thirst for information. I cannot even imagine the emotional roller coaster these guys went through last week preparing to meet 'The Man Who Would Have Walked to Ann Arbor' and his merry maize and blue men. These kids bought into whatever Hoke as selling here at SDSU (and I think we can all agree we are glad they did) - only problem was the whole time he was preaching accountability to them he had his ear to the ground for an opportunity to beat feet. I know he told Webber he would leave for MI if the gig was up, but the way he did it - effectively gutting the coaching staff - which brings up the point - where do you think the football program would be today if Rocky "Because I Said So" Long had bailed with the rest of the fun bunch and left the AZTECS without a Head Coach a month before LOI Signing Day - anyone, anyone? I am sure these kids wanted to come out and put on a show, but it didn't happen (and I am sure the high level of intimacy that the MI staff had with all things SDSU was a factor) and, I could be wrong, but I would venture a guess they were pretty upset about it and not wanting to face the press. I can hear it now: "Yes, Mr. Canepa, you have a question?" Why yes I do, Ronnie, what's up with playing loose with the rock after I come up with this brilliant idea of writing a story that all but seals the deal for you to leave school after this year? You trying to make me look bad?" Sorry Nick - and Tim - neither one of you needs any help in that department. Kman out

Lindley and Hillman both had arguably the worst games in their careers. Long was probably looking out for them in regards to media attention after the game, since these kids were proabably feeling pretty emotional and/or devastated after the loss. I agree the writer is a douche for even speculating why Long didn't allow them to speak to the media. I am glad Rocky confirmed this and set the record straight. It doesn't take a super genius to figure out that may have been the case and hopefully Sullivan learned a lesson from this. He is now a "confirmed" douche.

Lindley had a bad game and a half. I think it is more a reflection of his supporting cast than his ability. When he was given talented receivers he did great things. Outside of Hillman, this team is desperatley searching for an offensive identity. I am in total amazement we don't have quality receivers when we have been notorious for turning out NFL receivers. Memo to recruits......you have a great shot at serious play time as a freshman next year!!!

After evaluating some other qbs over the weekend including the pros. Ryan is going to have to get better footwork in order to be more successful. He is going to have to a hang in the pocket or learn to move in the pocket better to bide time for receivers to adjust routes. He gets happy feet and puts almost no touch on his short screen passes. We know he can make all the throws especially the deep ball but he is a career .500 completion percentage will not get it done at the next level.

Good for Rocky to take charge and protect his guys. This is NOT the NFL and SDSU is NOT a big powerhouse. They are trying to re-build this program and it wont happen with the dumbass media being overly critical at this early of the season.
Bottom line...Ryan Lindley is going to set EVERY possible quarterback record for this program, lets have pride in who he is and what he has meant to this program and support the coach and players.
