I'm intrigued to see how accurate our other QBs are. Not sure about accuracy but from seeing film of them, although neither is going to be confused with Denard Robinson, both are considerably more mobile than Lindley. Their threat to run is going to make it tougher for opposing LBs to take off in coverage.

I hear that Lindley's backup has legit speed in the sub 4.7 range. Oldie Out

I didnt start this thread to abuse RL... it was out of shock! He needs to calm down and trust himself. He's a good qb and he needs to remember that in tough spots. We will need him this year and I think he will use this to improve.
It's a perfect time for a bye... Time to relax and practice for TCU!

From what I saw at the game was Lindley did not look off receivers at all. Pure laser beam focus on the primary receiver. Missed so many open guys. I did talk to the Michigan starting safety. He said that Lindley got his bell rung pretty good early and that may have affected his game. Who knows. Bad game. Regroup and beat TCU!!

Yeah not his best game for sure - but still believe he is a really good QB that can CONTINUE to bring us to new heights. Tom Brady had a couple of picks the other day, I've heard his backup looked good in camp.
Ryan will be fine, the Aztecs will be fine.

Nobody has ever answered my question about running a two minute offense. When was the last time Ryan ran one successfully, either at the end of the half or a game? The Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half at New Mexico doesn't count.
The ability of a QB to run that tells alot about his ability.
Also Ryan doesn't check down his receivers well, either he will learn this or the time at the next level will be short.
Great kid, even a better teammate but he needs to mature on these two points.
GO AZTECS!!!!

A constant message from pop warner to NFL is make the QB feel uncomfortable. There are very few that can handle getting pressured and hit and still be effective. I guess Ryan is human.

Tom Brady threw 4 interceptions against Buffalo this weekend. I'm sure he'll be fine.
QBs have bad days. Granted Lindley had a seriously s#!++y day, but it happens.

I was celebrating my kids birthday at Disneyland over the weekend so I had to follow the game via updates from my smartphone. Like most of us, I was very ticked off about the loss. That being said, I just got done watching it on DVR and boy are some of these post against RL just plain wrong. May be just heat of the moment posts. His game wasn't as bad as what this post makes out to be. This was not his "worst" game as an Aztec. Sure he was pressured a lot and made some bad throws. He also had to throw away balls because of that pressure. However, there was a lot of dropped balls from open receivers (at my count six) and most of them should have been first down catches. He made some quality NFL throws and ran the 2 minute drill well.
IMO the Aztec's couldn't capitalize when in Michigan territory and the turnovers just killed us and our momentum. Plain and simple the ball didn't bounce or way this game. Just hoping the team can re-group and take it out on TCU in a couple of weeks.

Our beloved Philip Rivers didn't look so hot either. Sh*t happens! I believe it was a combination of things that made this game go south: There was stage fright. We were overpowered by Michigan's lines - both sides of the ball. We simply can not match them in recruiting. It's Michigan! Rocky said he was too aggressive in defensive play calling. He would bring the house, and we would see Robinson break thru the line of scrimmage, and there was no one in our backfield, as they all just blitzed. Rocky went less on blitzes and more on contain, and we did much better on defense in the second half. But, alas, the damage was done. Hillman fumbling?! Stage fright.

I'm intrigued to see how accurate our other QBs are. Nevertheless, I expect our team to improve next year. Oldie Out It will be very interesting to see how the next QB does with the program on the rise. I am disappointed in Lindley's play this season, I am not so sure he is as irreplaceable as some of the posters here think but I could be wrong. In any event, he is the guy for this year unless he gets hurt so I guess we should just sit back and (hopefully) enjoy the ride.
