This is ironic, William Kyle from SDSU (South Dakota State), the 2023-24 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, has entered the transfer portal. He is a 6'9 215lb PF who averaged 13.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 blocks. Assume Creighton may be calling? How many from SDSU to SDSU transfers have there been, zero. After a big year at SDSU, William Kyle, a Bellevue West grad, enters transfer portal omaha.com/sports/college/basketball/after-big-year-at-sdsu-william-kyle-a-bellevue-west-grad-enters-transfer-portal/article_8261a866-eac8-11ee-aca5-a3bf278e12d3.html

Ex-Aztec recruit Ebenezer Dowuona 6'11, 225 lb Center is back in the portal, 3 years at NC St, and one at Georgia Tech. Not much offense coming from him, shot blocker (pass.)
He is from Accra, Ghana where a guy named Nate Mensah came from.
Another ex-Aztec recruit Justin Rochelin 6'5 190lb. wing, is looking again: Arizona State > Oregon State > TBD? Bench player (pass)
The portal is at 900+ today, weeks away from the May 1st deadline.

Jamal Mashburn Jr. is in the portal. Would love to poach him! Cardenas from SJSU would be a much better fit.

Ajayi from Pepperdine already committed to Gonzaga, things starting quick this year. Whether or not we win Thursday, hope we can get some early commitments too. I guess a lot of that depends on Lamont/Micah making their stay or go decisions quickly.

I guess a lot of that depends on Lamont/Micah making their stay or go decisions quickly. Pepperdine has talent and 2 of their top 3 players have gone to top 20 teams. Only 6'11" 220 lb Jevon Porter (son of Michael Porter) has not committed yet. - Houston Mallette - 6'5" 185 lb committed to Alabama - Michael Ajayi - 6'7" 220 lb committed to Gonzaga

Lots riding on this week’s game vs UCONN. If we win it propels us into the “blue bloods” discussion. Taking down the AP #1 overall two straight seasons is legitimizing.
As was said, it comes down to Parrish (our vocal leader this season) and Butler coming back. Waters is 98% coming back - my guess. I’d put Parrish at 60% and Butler 70% though I have no insider info there.

Didn’t he have a heart issue where Louisville didn’t clear him to play and wouldn’t be clearing him in the future?

Didn’t he have a heart issue where Louisville didn’t clear him to play and wouldn’t be clearing him in the future? Yes, in January he was not cleared to play, and may or may not have had a procedure. HIPPA laws do not allow for his medical records to be unsealed. I haven't seen that he is available to play, or has had corrective surgery or any heart procedure.

That is, if they're true PGs. I wouldn't mind a taller, older PG to come in for one year to help school BJ and divide some playing time and even to the point of one of them playing the #2 guard on occasion. I just don't want to lose BJ before we get a chance to see what he can become.
