UDub players expected to return next season: Braxton Meah, Wilhelm Breidenbach, Nate Calmese, Franck Kepnang, Wesley Yates III, Christian King, and Samuel Ariyibi. The Huskies also signed 4-star recruit Casimir Chavis and received a verbal commitment from 5-star prospect Zoom Diallo. Koren Johnson and Noah Williams are currently in the transfer portal. (Info from the Seattle Times.) Wasn't Johnson one of our top targets recently? Maybe he'll correct his error. Johnson would be a perfect addition for the Aztecs (on the floor), not sure how he left the situation with Dutch, Dave V & staff.

Based on everything 'we' can see, Johnson would be a fantastic fit to come in and take over the starting PG role from Day 1 (yeah, he'd have to earn it... but he would, obviously, unless he secretly has a strong distaste for playing defense).

Koren Johnson was named the PAC12 6th Man of the Year, wouldn't be ironic to have Reese & Koren in the Aztec starting 5?

The way he left Louisville in January was very odd. He supposedly wasn't "medically cleared" to play as of Jan 4th. No one would say what was wrong although he had been getting treatment for a shoulder injury. He apparently left the school around then too and they said they didn't foresee him coming back. 7'1" but just 215 lbs. We already have two guys like that.

Ouch for the Cardinal in the portal... First was PG Kanaan Carlyle Then SG/SF Andrej Stojakovic And PF Max Murrell Now C Maxime Raynaud
Among them... I'd love to get Stojakovic. Raynaud... I am just not sure he'd be the type of 5 we'd be looking for as a complement to Heide (I assume if we're looking for a 5 in the portal it would be a 5th year senior more in the mold of N Mensah.

Have we had any bounce backs in the Dutch era?

Have we had any bounce backs in the Dutch era? If a bounce-back is a kid offered by SDSU out of HS but went somewhere else, and then transferred to SDSU, then I think Matt Bradley and Reese Waters are the only ones in the Dutcher era. Out of HS during the Dutcher era, I don't believe SDSU offered Kameron Rooks, Devin Watson, Malachi Flynn, Trey Pullium, KJ Feagin, Cade Alger, Yanni Wetzel, Che Evans, Joshua Tomiac, Terrel Gomez, Jaedon LeDee, Chad Baker-Mazara, Micah Parrish, Darrion Trammell, or Jay Pal. I'm confident Dutcher will not pull a Brady Hoke and take Koren Johnson, after Koren de-committed from SDSU at the 11th hour and left SDSU hanging.

I'd love to get Koren, Reynaud, or Stojackovich. Those would be dream targets. But as Frantic said, Dutch probably wouldn't take it lightly that Koren left us at the altar.

UT San Diego 3 thoughts: San Diego State 79, Saint Mary’s 54 ... on Koren Johnson “My great grandmother, she got sick, so I wanted to be home off the strength of that,” Johnson said. “I wanted to be around my family and everybody. My mom was (angry). She wanted me to fight through adversity, just get through it, but I kind of wanted to take the easy way out and I came back home. I was homesick.” The rest of the story Dutcher has no problem actually said good things about him. He was glad he did it now before leaving the the program a year later to go back home. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2023-11-18/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-basketball-3-thoughts-st-marys-gael-washington-koren-johnson-decommit-backboard

Current USC outgoing transfers, per S.I.com. Both players are from California and had great HS careers, but underperformed at the collegiate level. Oziyah Sellers: A 6-foot-5 guard, Sellers averaged 5.2 points and shot 42.9% from 3-point range as a sophomore in 2023-24, starting six games and playing 14.2 minutes per game across 32 total appearances. Sellers played sparingly as a freshman after being recruited as a three-star prospect out of Modesto, Calif. Kijani Wright: A 6-foot-9 forward, Wright averaged 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12 minutes per game off the bench as a sophomore in 2023-24. Wright was a four-star recruit, ranked No. 52 in the nation out of Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Calif. He has two years of remaining eligibility.

would guess that Waters and the former Aztec coach now at USC can relay a good amount of information to Dutcher and Gundo
Is there also a 6'8" PF from Stanford originally from San Diego that might be a grad senior or Super Senior
