Boyd is coming to The Mesa on Monday, and spent today at Louisville. The big debate on Twitter today was how many Aztecs did Boyd add to social media, it looks like 4, Butler, Saunders, Byrd, and Magoooon And Dave V.

I’m going 99% he’s going to Michigan and 1% chance SDSU. So I’m saying there’s a chance.

Quite shocked by Mahaney. Dude is gonna get PAID, he’s that 7 figure type of transfer IMO (or close to it). In December he want to come to SDSU & was talking to SDSU players.

Just depends if Mahaney went into the portal to go along with the assistant or because the assistant left. My best guess is he he entered with the intention to go to Michigan (NIL, bigger stage, ETC), would be ecstatic if he becomes an Aztec though.

Yeah. I would imagine he could fetch close to $1 mil. The money flowing around is crazy. I would pose this question. Would you rather make a bunch of money but go to a program 2000 miles from home that has sucked in recent years. A program that will always be second to football. Or would you instead choose to not make not as much money but still get some decent cash, and play with some of your boys at a program that has made deep tourney runs in the last two years? A program where you'd be a local legend and be coached by a staff that puts dudes in the NBA. For me, I’d pick scenario two every time. Now my perspective is as a 47 year old adult. A 21 year old kid may look at this differently.

1. He doesn’t fill a need. He would be a bench player. Everyone that follows the portal knows that. 2. He doesn’t play good defense. It the exact opposite. Everyone that follows the portal knows that. Link to his stats x.com/aztecbreakdown/status/1779184510799900801I agree with you, but I don’t think our staff plans to just use him as a bench piece. We have a limited number of scholarships. I agree that his track record dictates that he should be a bench player. Only need I think he fills is he can shoot. And what was our biggest issue this past year? It sounds like Boyd may end up being the guy that fills that need as well.

A 21 year old kid may look at this differently. They’ve only been bad for 2 years. Right before that they made 5 straight Sweet 16s. They are still seen as a very high profile program. We can offer what, 100k maybe. If Michigan is at $1 mil I think almost everyone would pick that unless they come from a wealthy family. No guarantee you’ll have a pro career so making what you can in college does make a lot of sense.

Maybe not NBA, although that's not out of the question, but at least overseas. I don't know for sure that he comes from a wealthy family, but I know Moraga is an affluent community. You're throwing out complete guesses as to how much money Michigan can offer and how much SDSU can offer. These NIL figures people are throwing out are complete conjecture. I don't think almost everyone one would pick Michigan in this situation. Depends on what's important to you and how you want to spend two years of your life.

It’s not even a 2 year commitment anymore. NCAA just today officially approved the rules for unlimited no-sit transfers.

I guess these days who knows? My confidence level is still super low on him coming here.
