as mentioned in another post - at last night 's Event was a former USC guard in the Portal - Reese Dixon Waters who was 6th man at USC - 9 points ppg - 3.2 assists and 30% on threes He has already had an in home visit from Texas HC , also after him , UCLA , Kansas , Alabama But having him spend the day with the team and then attending last night was a very good idea He has said he intends on signing by May 10 Wished he was a little more consistent/reliable on O, but other than that this guy would be a great fit on the court. A big guard that can defend and, hopefully, shut down bigger guards. We tend to be a little vulnerable at times with Lamont at 6’2” and Darrion at 5’9” vs bigger opposing guards. Sounds like he embraces “getting after it” on D. It will come down to if he is truly a culture fit for us - and- if he wants what we offer … there is a ton of competition for him from big time schools. Kudos to Rodney Terry for getting in for a home visit, I hope Dutcher can/will, or may be even better if the parents were along for his visit this weekend. I trust Dutch and our staff. If we want him and offer him, that tells me all I need to know. Dixon could be a little of a "Bounce Back" who was top 50 prospect out of St. Bernard High, where he played for Tony Bland (you remember him). Bland bounced between minor league circuits in the U.S. and Europe for a few years before becoming a personal trainer to NBA players, then returned to San Diego State in 2008 to finish his degree and serve as the team’s manager and in 2011, the Aztecs hired him as an assistant coach. According to Ziegler "Dixon-Waters would appear to be a plug-and-play replacement for the departing Matt Bradley, although they are different players. Bradley had more offensive success at Cal before transferring but required a defensive adjustment when he arrived at SDSU; Dixon-Waters is a defensive stopper who has shown offensive upside, averaging 11.7 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 44.0 percent behind the arc over USC’s final six games. That included 17 points against Arizona, 16 against Arizona State and 15 against Colorado." I prefer the 6'6" AJ Storr (Syracuse) who plays the same position, but has over 30+ schools chasing him. Dixon is a solid choice, but his outside shot needs work.

Storr is St Johns. Dixon Waters hit 46% of his 3pt shots his frosh year, but regressed this past season... so the potential is there

Didn't Keshad shout out “Look at this." & “Come on, now. How could you not commit here?” Waters, It’s been good. The coaches are nice people, good campus, good school, good program. “It’s been fun. It’s been cool being here.” Schools include: UCLA (visit), Texas (home visit) plus Kansas, Alabama, Arkansas + Louisville, and others.

I wouldn't read into that. He's a recruiter/team guy, like enticing DW, but in the end he'll do what's best for his professional career moving forward.

concur as noted in UT - Keshad still has 3 options that he is pondering NBA Draft - Returning to SDSU , Enter the Transfer Portal he has not made up his mind - wants to go over all options with his family
Ledee and Lamont have told the Coaches that it will be going through NBA options - same as Dutcher has said to most guys - If NBA tells them they are Very Likely going to be First Round Choice then NBA would be hard to tuen down - Second Round since not all selections get guaranteed money maybe go back to school .
Dutcher has asked that all players let him know as soon as possible whatever decision they may choose

Dutcher has asked that all players let him know as soon as possible whatever decision they may choose NBA EARLY ENTRYFor NBA early entry April 23 represents the deadline for athletes to apply for early entry, and June 1 serving as the last day to withdraw from the draft and maintain their college eligibility. The NBA Draft Combine will be held May 15-21 in Chicago, followed by the draft on June 22 in Brooklyn, New York. TRANSFER PORTAL WINDOWThere’s a “window” for the time for players to officially enter the NCAA Basketball transfer portal for the different sports seasons, with winter athletes (basketball), having 60 days to enter after the conclusion of the regular-season/conference tournaments. So for the men and women, the deadline would be May 11th. Anyone who enters during this period will be able to become immediately eligible if it’s their first time transferring. Anyone who enters afterward will have to apply for a waiver, something that isn’t guaranteed by the NCAA. Grad students are exempt from this rule so veterans can move at any time.

But after a while, I noticed that about 74.37% of your posts are just rehashed or remixed posts that have already been posted by others or the exact information from articles but without quoting them. So I have a couple honest questions Stan: 1) Do you do that because you are trying to simplify the previously posted post in order to make it easier to understand by the reader? OR 2) Do you actually believe that it is an original take because you thought it even though you may have just read it on anther thread or in an article? I know people kid you on this forum Stan but I'm really not trying to do so. I just wondered and do appreciate your passion, history and love of everything Aztec on this board.

I was just trying to report what the UT had printed today about the status for Lamont and Ledee - entering the NBA draft procedure and also confirming that they will NOT enter the transfer Portal - while highly rumored but had not before seen it Confirmed .
Keshad - some had posted that by what he said at the event Saturday validated that he would return BUT the information Zeigler has - he has not made up his mind what he will do
Also in the UT today that Dutcher does not want to be in the same position that he was last year - waiting for Nathan to decide what he was going to do - as Aztecs lost players in the Portal ( that play the 5 position ) while waiting for Nathan to decide - it worked ok for the Aztecs but teams similar to CSU lost out on getting players as Roddy waited to the last day .
On positive note for Nathan - he been invited to a Seniors Tournament that he was not asked to play in last year . Matt also was asked to play but has declined due to injury ( could the injury have happened during MM or even before - No idea )
Not pretending to have breaking news just what I read and know not everyone gets the UT or follows Zeigler
Sorry if it is repeated news but to me there were some confirmations about some things
Yes as my wife tells me I can be redundant - do not get old or become a Dinosaur

So How good is BJ Davis? Modesto Bee 4/7/23
He stands 6-foot-1 and has a wiry frame that will fill out with time in college. But his size and physique is why he plays so hard. In his final season with the Crusaders, Davis averaged 18.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.9 steals. After leading Modesto Christian to a 27-7 record, its second straight Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship and back-to-back Open Division NorCal title games, Davis is The Bee’s Boys Basketball Player of the Year. “He’s gonna go into San Diego State, and he’s going to just work,” said Crusaders’ coach Brice Fantazia. “I think that’s what they loved about him is he fits their culture. That’s what they want. They want guys with chips on their shoulder that are going to compete, aren’t entitled, aren’t going to expect anything. They’re going to go take it and that’s what BJ is going to do. Davis did not start out as a highly ranked California recruit and played on the Crusaders’ junior varsity team as a freshman. As a sophomore, junior and senior he was named to one of the CalHi Sports All State teams and gained more college interest as his high school career continued. He led the Crusaders to two Sac-Joaquin Section Division I titles, a CIF Northern California Open Division championship, a NorCal Open Division runner up finish and a state Open Division runner up finish. Love the fact that the highlight real starts with a defensive steal, layout and lay up.

I really liked how quickly he released the 3-pointer as the player closed out on him. I felt like Adam got more and more tentative as the season wound down and hardly shot unless he was completely open.

trust he will be at Summer Session getting used to college and learn during Summer practices
Key for PT is also being able to play defense and not making that many TO's
