Another poo poo. Classic, but predictable. Can you, a grown adult, not use the word poo poo? It's a fact. Look at the historical data. He starts off well and always fades. Team needs every bit of offense it can get at this point and it badly needs some power production. This video always makes me laugh. The greatest hits. youtu.be/Yfvsh8vrEl4Just the Albatross improving his trade value. Hopefully.

A couple good games isn't quite enough to pull the wool over the eyes of GM's across the league, unfortunately. Sitting today against a lefty, so at least Melvin is sticking to his word.

I like the way Melvin has utilized his players thus far, with Abrams and Kim as well.

He's played a very good first base, and is barreling the ball well. Let's hope he can stay consistent. I trust Melvin will use him properly to benefit the Padres as much as possible.

It's a foreign feeling seeing a positive WAR number at first base, but the tandem of Voit and Hosmer will hopefully keep the Padres above the bottom of the rankings there. Arizona's going to be awful, so I don't think much is to be gleaned from 4 games, but I do think the infield may low-key be a bit deeper than the community thought.

Maybe it's just spring in the aire … Darvish pitches 6 no-hit innings against Arizona, and the very next game he stumbles through the first inning allowing the Gigantes to bat around and giving up 6 runs. Complete Jekyll and Hyde! (or maybe it's just YU and PU)
Rough start. Better luck next inning … glad they threw him back out there in the second inning even though it's obviously a cold and windy night. He needed much better command, and he really couldn't find his ass with both hands tied behind his back if he had to tonight, much less be aware of where his pitches were going… he really crapped the bed tonight. Horrible outing…

Padre bullpen was great tonight - until "Johnson" came in and couldn't keep it up.

Padres bullpen really can't be trusted so far this season … aside from the closer and one or two relievers, it remains a real $#!+show …

Last year it was starters who fell by the wayside right and left. This year, it's a bullpen that can't go more than a game or two without shitting the bed. Losing games the way they did today will come back to bite them in the AZZtecs come September... and just when you'd think they might get ahead with such a strong starting staff. But if those guys don't go 8 innings, watch out!

Wil Myers AGAIN with a nonsense move in RF. OK, it's early. Get over it and wake up. Just cost them a run.

Still crapping out with runners on base. Sending Robby Cano up to end the game was pure genius.
Apparently, whoever made that decision must've given it some extra thought, too. LOL - he's optioned/DFA'd and he'll take the FA route. If anyone wants him now. He won't go the minor league route unless he's really desperate - and it can't be for the money. He can sit at home and he'l still get another $21M. If he can't live on his share of that pile of cash for the rest of his lifetime, that's too bad.

'22 Yankees have the same record at this point of the season as the 1998 Yankees.
… as another famous Yankee once said "It's like Déjà vu all over again!"
For those who can still remember, the Padres' last World Series appearance was cut short after running into the Yankees' buzz saw in 1998 …
… will history repeat itself? Or might there be a different ending this time …
Still plenty of baseball left, but the Yankees look unbeatable, and the Padres might just be too once they get a few key players back in the saddle again.
