Yeah Lamont has a thicker build, definitely not a skinny wirey type who will need a year or two to physically mature. I saw him at the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic. Looks like he really controls the game and is solid at everything

do think he has very good basketball IQ and talents . But as we have also learned freshmen have to make the adjustment from HS ball to college ball . There is a difference both on the court and off . Plus learning both offense and defense
Do hope that Malachi is back next year to assist him but we will see . Do have Trey P and Adam S to assist the guards in learning .

IF the Aztecs get back Malachi and Mitch next season and Mensha comes back fully healthy they could have another pretty good team. Next seasons returning players with a solid recruiting class already in place looks nice and then adding a Transfer could be interesting. This could be the beginning of something much bigger, with the success of this year and the look of another solid year next should really help the recruiting. The pieces are in place great coaching (hope to retain all), great facilities (arena and JAM center) great campus, great location, National exposure, new campus expansion, successful football team, increase in academic standings/status............... and the SHOW! I have said it before and I will say it again, things are about to get interesting "REAL INTERESTING!" Go Aztecs!

Big Max is 6’8” 260 center. Being recruited by UNLV, DePaul and Boston College. Interesting! You would think he might grow 2 to 3 more inches then we are talking 4 stars. i looked at his twitter account and he was upset that we loss. He is being recruited by Las Vegas. This is too funny! The Butler is gold.

I like that Lamont is always sporting his Aztecs gear and he always has a big smile on his face. The tapes I have seen of him look pretty good, smooth on and off ball, doesn't jump around like some idiot after he scores, he acts like hes done it before (rare). He appears to be mature beyond his age and best of all really seems to enjoy playing D and TEAM basketball.

I don’t think I have seen a future player do more for a future team then the Butler is doing now. Absolutely love this kid and his parents for how they have brought up their son.

Graduate, enjoy the day, pack up your stuff, start your new career and chapter of your life. Get in quickly, learn how to work/practice/know the system, show your teammates you belong and earn their respect. Go Aztecs.

Butler / Poly play tomorrow in San Diego at St Augustine in the state playoffs 16 team division I bracket... poly is a 10 seed and Fairfax (Dinwiddie) is a 12 seed against Windward tomorrow. Hopefully the boys teams can score some upsets and play a few more games.

In what will go down as one of the most insane high school games in the history of California, Butler and the Bears go down to Damien in SIX overtimes, 128-123.

Interesting clips of what the Butler can do. I am expecting key minutes out of this kid. Now go get the 4/5 post player Dutch.

You have to think how nice would it be if this guy had a year to sit back and study a player like Malachi. He would be able to learn that much more by watching and going against him in practice everyday. This kid looks pretty good, sdsu may have something special here.

I hate videos which focus on dunks. Shows absolutely nothing of a players skill set. Show me him picking someones pocket or pulling up for a midrange, or some good dishes instead. Glad I've actually seen him play a few times so I can have a significantly better idea of what he can do than this video ever shows. Looking forward to watching him develop.

Agreed too many dunks, which shows aggressive and that he can jump. What I liked was drive to the basket, lay off the backside board and score it. Shooting motion looks good. Had a clip of finding the open man with nice pass. What is interesting is to see how much bigger (shoulders) he has gotten. I wonder if Dutch would consider adding a player to his staff. Might intrigue a 5 year senior point guard with great defensive skills and a good communicator.
