Nominated to the McDonalds All-American game. I saw this on twitter as well and he was nominated with 3 other players from the area, each of which were either 2 star recruits or didn't have any recruiting page at all. Do you know how many kids get nominated? This obviously doesn't mean he actually gets to play in it right?

Don't think he or the other Aztec recruits made the final cut for McD game

Butler will challenge for the starting lineup immediately next year. Will get lots of minutes if he does not start. Can not see a red shirt unless he is hurt.

We’ll have seniors Pulliam and Flynn at PG and seniors Shakel and Mitchell at the wing ... it’s highly unlikely Butler challenges for a starting position but I hope he gets a little playing time to get some experience.

Pullman going need to work on his 3 point jumper and unfortunately Flynn could get a look from the NBA. Door is open for Butler and I expect him to take advantage of it.. Even if Flynn stays, he could easily stay at the SG spot with Butler backing up Pullman initially at PG. Lots of interesting choices, but we absolutely need a big.

Looks like 'Pullman' took your advice and worked on his 3 point shot.

I don’t know the exact number but like hundreds and hundreds of kids get nominated, he won’t make it

The turnover ball thrown OB and that foul at the end game were not good but without his performance we probably take an L. Best plays were the lay-up high off the glass in the last 2 minutes and the jumper at the end of half were crucial, hat off to him.

Lamont is going to be the best freshman pg we have had in a long time. maybe the best ever. he looks like he is also physically maturing which will only pay dividends at the next level.

Best ever? You forget DJ Gay, started as freshman.

Best ever? You forget DJ Gay, started as freshman. Alongside Ritchie Williams, who was the PG. Gay was off the ball as a 2 guard. And he was solid but didn't "wow" you at all his freshman year

DJ was converted to the PG position before his junior year, IIRC.

Yeah, I follow the young man on Twitter and just saw his latest game highlights (19pts, 11 assists), and he was scoring at all levels including a couple of impressive dunks! He looks like he could give minutes to this current Aztec squad, seriously. He isn't built like a HS Senior.

Best ever? You forget DJ Gay, started as freshman. i didnt. Ritchie Williams IMO is the best in recent memory. but he was all down hill. Lamont is pass first, and maybe better all around. DJ Gay was a phenomenal scorer in high school. I think Lamont has the edge.
